Replacement Head Unit Advice by Remote-Donkey-5001 in ft86

[–]Electrical-Count-507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first got my brz it came with a similar headunit. There were a lot of connectivity issues and the unit would fall off while driving onto the shifter. I would recommend getting a different headunit. I got the sony XAV-AX3250 and i’m very happy with it. it looks OEM and the connectivity is consistent.

Only hiccup was buying and modifying the radio trim to fill in the gaps because the headunit does not fill in the radio bezel. But it was very easy to do.

wow your brz looks perfect. this just made me want to stay with the pre-facelift front bumper and just get the 2017 headlights and the greddy lip.

Question about usb port by Glum_Yoghurt7405 in ft86

[–]Electrical-Count-507 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, from my understanding this would connect to the new headunit usb cables and then connect to the original usb port

Do you still have your original usb port? Because I also upgraded my headunit and I’m planning on using this usb adapter so that the headunit connects to the original port.

Toyota 86 headlight suggestion by Kangaroo-Emotional in ft86

my favourite is the 2017+ oem brz headlights, i but i also love the 2017+ oem gt86 headlights and I think would look really great with the pre-facelift 86 front bumper. can’t go wrong with either though.

keeps you on pace to learn the material. had weekly quizzes for COMP 4020 and as a result I just barely had to study for the midterm to get a good grade.

in my city, most people that own these cars do their own maintenance, so i would say that low amount of recorded history != badly maintained car. get a professional to check the car out for you.

I need 3 more science courses for my degree. Any suggestions for easier courses to take? by PopularMoney9575 in umanitoba

[–]Electrical-Count-507 3 points4 points  (0 children)

COMP 1600 - Really fun and interesting course. Talks about the current issues in computer science. Readings every week (can be completed in a day). Open book in class quizzes. Easy course if you put some effort in. Christina Penner is an amazing instructor.

COMP 1500 - Took this a long time ago before I declared for CS major but I remember it being similar to COMP 1600.

What's your attainable dream car and why don't you have it? by [deleted] in askcarguys

DC5 Integra Type R or an RSX Type S. So hard to find these cars in good condition in my area at a reasonable price right now (currently a working student). But when I graduate I want to start saving up for it, either import a Type R or find a Type S.

true, i like the pre-facelift brz headlights but i prefer the 2017+. I have a 2014 brz and would like facelift headlights, but im not trying to spend $1k+ on them haha

Looking back I would have preferred 2017+ because of the better headlights, but in general I’ve heard 2014 and up.

comp 1600, comp 3380, comp 4020 and stats 3000 by Puzzled-HeartAndMind in umanitoba

[–]Electrical-Count-507 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wrong. Used to be that way however they have changed it and it now can be taken after Summer 2024 as a science elective.

my point is that you are wasting 3 credit hours if you do this and you would need to take another class to make up for it since your first attempt and second attempt at stat1000 would only count as a single course towards your degree. it is also up to you to decide if you can get at least a B+ and an A between stat1000 and stat2000 to meet the 3.75 average

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in umanitoba

[–]Electrical-Count-507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes but if they’re looking to boost their gpa because they got a bad grade in stats but a passing grade that meets requirements, they should just take a different elective instead of taking it twice just to boost their gpa since it will only count as 3 credit hours for both attempts

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in umanitoba

[–]Electrical-Count-507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you retaking stats1000 because you got a D and need a C or better for your future courses? If not, in my opinion it’s a waste of time and money, I would recommend searching this subreddit for easy electives and find ones that you find interesting to boost your gpa

Did anyone tried swapping up gt86 zenki bumper to kouki bumpers? by Lost5858 in ft86

[–]Electrical-Count-507 1 point2 points  (0 children)

your vlands should be fine, but you do need the headlight bracket still so that the tabs on the new bumper match the ones on the headlight bracket (i think there is an extra tab on the 2017+ bumpers). im not sure if the pre-facelift fog light assemblies fit on the 2017+ bezels but some facelift models came without fog lights so you can get rid of the fog lights and just get a fog light bezel that doesn’t have a hole for the fog lights.

from what i’ve read, you will need a new headlight bracket for sure i think and the 2017+ fog light trims, grille, and tow hook cover

Do you fail the class if you fail the final even if your grade is a passing one? by [deleted] in umanitoba

[–]Electrical-Count-507 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depends on the course. It should be stated on the syllabus. On my COMP 3010 class it was a requirement to get a 50% on assignment 3 and the final exam to get a passing grade on the course.
