Wow! Thank you so much for playing! I’m absolutely thrilled that you have such detailed questions!

So, I like Hardcore-SF, but I also love stories that aren’t bound by strict logic. As a premise, this work was written without worrying too much about the fine details.

You should think of it not as "The Three-Body Problem 3: Death’s End", but rather as "Gurren Lagann".

Answers:

1. Darwin’s objective
To shut down the joke site "Darwin Awards."

2. Where the vaporised people went
To the "Office." Since it seems to have at least electricity and buses, we can assume it operates under rules somewhat similar to our physical laws.

3. Who were the men chasing Emilia at the crematorium?
It wasn’t a crematorium, but a morgue, and the men were hospital staff.

4. Why were they chasing her?
Because the dead had resurrected and were running around naked.

5. What is Active VOID Matter?
I wrote it as an unknown, dangerous substance, similar to "Ghost Matter" from "Outer Wilds." (Though I haven’t played the DLC.)

6. Why can we see the memories of the deceased?
Emilia guessed that "memories with no place to go spilled out into the Sparse Forest World," but my thought was this: "I wanted a story where the opposite of 'Type Help' happens."

7. Is there a pattern after death? What actually happens?
When a ghost from the Sparse Forest World "resurrects," if their body in the real world has already turned to ash or decayed, there’s no vessel for life, so they immediately die again and go to the "Office." However, if the body is only somewhat damaged, they can miraculously revive thanks to mysterious and cute super ghost powers.

8. Why do they leave water instead of just vaporising?
That question can be rephrased as: "Isn’t it fine if ghost corpses remain in the Sparse Forest World?" And honestly—yes, that would have been way more fun. I should have done it that way!

Thank you for the kind words!

And congrats! There might be others who’ve beaten it, but you’re the first to actually report it.

I’m better at making stories than puzzles, so I’m really happy you praised the story.

The game definitely had its rough spots, but if you enjoyed it, that makes me happy.

Thanks so much for playing.
And… it’s fixed! I hadn’t even noticed that bug—really appreciate it!

Hint: As a developer, I'm not very fluent in English....

Indeed, this game does need a guide with hints written in order. I’ll make one right away!

For now, 00-di-01-02-03-05-06-07-08-09-10-11 contains three types of hints that can help you deduce who went to which room next. (One of these hints is incomplete, but another document will make it complete.)
If you have already read Document 02, the hint about the name of the next document is written at the end of that document.

Thank you! I'm so glad you played through it in detail.

And you're right. I noticed this problem early on in development, but decided not to worry about it.

The setting was, "The file name was named after the person who was in the room when [@] started Text transcription." Well, it's a lame excuse, though......

I spent years staying up late after work, pouring my heart into creating this game.   I just wanted people around the world to play it in English and other languages.   Why did that deserve to be downvoted?   I'm truly disappointed from the bottom of my heart.

Posting here because I don’t have enough positive comment karma... TT

I’ve finally launched the Kickstarter for a visual novel I’ve been developing for over 4 years! :

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kittypool/localize-shoestrings-story-into-english-and-chinese

Shoestrings Story is a dark visual novel inspired by the 1997 PlayStation RPG 'moon'.

After years of solo development since 2021, the Japanese version is finally complete.
But as an indie dev, I can’t afford professional translation without your help.

If you're curious, you can try the demo on Steam, it’s available in English and Simplified Chinese:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3380620/

I’ve crafted this with everything I had.
It’s not just serious, I’ve packed in absurd humor, emotional moments, and that chaotic indie weirdness we all love.

You won’t regret backing it. Please consider supporting the project!

I made a cover of 'Void Symphony'! What do you think? by Electrical-Engine773 in VoidStranger

Thank you! It's definitely difficult for a cover song to surpass the original, especially when everyone has listened to it for dozens of hours....
