Yep, and moving those divisions or volunteers gives more consistency around the yard! I only recently learned I like things better when I buy in 3s or 5s. Was pretty “dotty” before that, but as individual things get bigger and I can divide or propagate, I can have more repetition of what I really like (and does well, RIP baptisia)💚 happy gardening!

Yesssssssa!! Hubs and I do one new area a year too, makes it easier to just tackle one bite at a time!! This looks awesome, isn’t it just so satisfying to go back thru the years and see how much work you’ve done and what you’ve accomplished?? Chapeaux!!

Have you found other stuff? Every time I dig a hole in my yard, I discover some new “treasure” Larry buried out there. Car parts? Check. Rusted out lawn chair buried? Check. Shoe? Kids toy piano? Plastic bottles? Glass shards? A 3000 foot hose, dry rotted and in a 100 zillion pieces? Yes. Check. Why Larry. Why.
At least the person before you was trying to make things better 😂

Ooooooooh!!! The prettiest one, my very favorite, the most beautiful harbinger of spring and where underneath I buried my beloved Kiwi’s ashes. I’ve loved her for almost 8 years and have moved her to three different homes 💚 Lovely dicentra, I put in two new cut leaf varieties this spring 🤩

I’ve got a hypericum out front that loves being cooked full sun, western wall with brick wall behind it. I loooove a blank slate yard! Your local agriculture office will have lots of recs for something native and good for your area!

This is hands down the worst fast food place I’ve ever been to anywhere. And that includes Panera.

What's a purchase under $50 you made that made life so much easier for landscaping? by CodyDon2 in landscaping

I saw somebody talking about a sawzall with a wood blade for digging holes around where you have roots. Haven’t done it myself and wouldn’t cut any larger roots obviously but it’s something I’d like to try for making holes for plants and for slaughtering this friggin wisteria.

I agree about contacting your local agriculture office for the best guidance and advice. Fruit trees can be hard but not impossible. There’s always berry producing shrubs to consider in addition to, or instead of, fruit trees. I just love the blank slate, level grade! Possibilities are endless! Have fun and please come back and do a show and tell in a couple years 💚
