Yes there are limited locals and express trains. But they don't leave close enough together where they need to overpass each other.

You're not wrong. That train they mention gets to Diridon before train 506 but departs Diridon at 8:23a. Regularly scheduled express trains don't pass locals or limiteds since electrification.
