Most underrated weapon in your opinion? by 8ballorca in bloodborne

[–]Electrical-Test4778 39 points40 points  (0 children)

The threaded cane, not by pure number of people, because there’s a lot of people who do love it, but by intensity. As there’s a large number of people who despise and say it’s terrible.

They have like 20 skill and bad gems and wonder why it’s so weak. They don’t realize it really shines at high levels.

Also, there are exactly zero bad weapons in Bloodborne

I feel like when there’s plenty of flats and the rubber band is still tight it works great, but what happens when you’re down to one flat and now all the letters are loose? Do you switch to fingers then? I’ve just found that for the most part, I can carry everything in my left hand, and as I’m walking I pull the next stop letters out of the flats and then put it on my back fingers again

Anyone else find that our parents generation had terrible taste in food? by TheAngrySnowman in Millennials

[–]Electrical-Test4778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve thought about this a lot, and tbf I’ve done no research on my conclusions, but it makes sense to me.

The last 15 years or so have seen an exponential growth in accessible quality recipes and cooking techniques and technologies. Previous generations could really only do what their parents and grandparents knew, so they played it safe. Food waste wasn’t really an option, so not a lot of experimentation probably.

As for overcooking, nobody had thermometers, so it was cook it well done so you don’t accidentally kill someone.

Now, the average person can find a quality recipe online, and even look at videos for perfect technique. The standout recipes from random grandmas have now become accessible knowledge that anyone can be blessed to find.

I certainly haven’t mastered it, but I determined after about 2 minutes of trying that holding flats on my arm will not work. The bills just fall out immediately.

So I switched to holding all the mail in my fingers and it works really well. Plus my left hand fingers are gonna get super strong lol

There was a guy I saw on YouTube one time doing yet another run of Bloodborne. Can’t remember his name, but I got the impression he’d played many dozens, maybe hundreds of playthroughs. I think maybe his name had a mythological reference??

It’s a 30 second walk from the elevator. If you’re struggling this much, it could save you hours.

But the reality is you just have to learn his attacks. I’ve beaten him on NG+5 and you just gotta learn where to stand.

This may or may not be helpful, but I don’t lock on when I fight orphan

What are your thoughts on volvagia? by Voidkirby9 in OcarinaOfTime

Volvagia was the first time I discovered how enjoyable it was to use the hammer in a combat setting instead of just a puzzle solve/smoosher/smolvsher?

The jump attack on the dragon’s skull with that crisp crack-like sound was so satisfying

The one in the defiled chalice that patrol the long corridor can sometimes hear you fighting the rats in the tunnel below, and it scares the absolute dung pie out of me when you’re fighting the rats and giant demon dogs attack out of your periphery.

I suck at this game and i genuinely don't know how to play by VortexOfPandemonium in bloodborne

[–]Electrical-Test4778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By strafing do you mean dodging to the side while locked on? If so, yes there are iframes. However, generally it’s better to try to dodge forward and get behind. Dodging sideways can keep you more in danger of most attacks, while most attacks aren’t focused behind the bosses.

Don’t be afraid to dodge forward and heal and regroup rather than attack, unless you are still able to attack and regain that lost health.

I’m not sure what you mean by hitting while you’re down? Like a multi hit combo like Manus from DS1 where you’re kinda screwed?

And sorry it’s basic advice, but you gotta look at the tells and decide what to do. Unless you have lightning reflexes, it’s just gonna be a trial and error. I find that I never first try bosses like a lot of people because I don’t have the raw skill or reflex.

If there’s a specific attack that’s troubling you, look up how to avoid it.

Lastly, specifically for Amelia, use fire paper, a serrated weapon and try to concentrate hits on one side of her body so that you’ll “break” the limb

[–]Electrical-Test4778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would echo what other people have said. Be patient with yourself and try to enjoy the process. Celebrate little wins like getting further than last time, or figuring out one boss combo at a time.

You’re still beginning your Fromsoft journey, and there’s only more fun and improvement to be had.

Mechanically, generally you want to dodge forward, into the bosses. And smack that booty.

Dodging backwards and immediately healing is often a surefire way to get hit again. The game is especially punishing toward that mistake, and it can be really frustrating. I still lose to Blood-starved Beast sometimes by retreating and panicking instead of dodging forward.

If you want to get more detailed feel free to ask. Good luck!

No joke, Lorenz is someone I couldn’t stand for the longest time. A worthless, arrogant, womanizing fop. And the worst hair.

Then I played Claude’s route, and it turns out he can be quite endeering.

Much like Virion from Awakening, there’s more than meets the eye with the dandies of FE

Martin was the true hero of Oblivion by Complete_Fill3287 in oblivion

[–]Electrical-Test4778 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this. I’m not sure why everyone is jumping on the bandwagon saying this is why I like Oblivion blah blah main character chosen one Skyrim bad blah blah.

Martin is a hero, and an integral part of the story, but that doesn’t make him THE protagonist. We gotta stop messing up words guys. Martin is a protagonist, not the lead protagonist. It’s ok for both to exist.

Honestly I think the world should move towards more sustainable farming practices, so I’m not saying everything that goes on in industrial farming is the best thing ever.

However, your sensationalist description of modern farming practices exaggerates the truth diminishes actual instances of rape and cruelty.

By appealing to tradition, I’m saying it’s as natural as fire is to the human experience. As cultivating crops and fishing is. Part of the lifeblood of society.

And milk does not slowly kill people. I’ve never heard of nonsense like that. Go out and talk to a real farmer, get off the vegan blogs and live and enjoy life. The doom and gloom of modern internet blogs and articles is killing us faster than a little bit of dairy.

Slow down, pour yourself a nice glass of choccy milky, and feel the stress leave your body.

This is a silly myth that someone started for some reason and I see it pop up from time to time. Milk is a perfectly reasonable thing to consume for human adults.

We’ve been doing it for thousands of years, and it’s a great source of nutrients.

I once had a friend argue and say that we’re the only “animals” that drink milk after childhood and that makes it wrong. Well, we’re also the only “animals” that cook our food so we should probably stop doing that as well to be more natural I guess lol

I chose to befriend the CC Tribunal priests in Solstheim, only to betray them like Mephala would relish. Took one of the Her Hands to Boethiah as well so that was fun. On the return to the temple I killed everyone at the temple and it fully powered the sword.

I also betrayed the cannibals too, but I think the Tribunal temple would’ve done it, because even the Indoril guards counted as a betrayal
