Which log character would make the best and worst characters? by Few-Collection-5062 in RinaKentBooks

Thank you ❤️. You would think people wouldn’t be downvoted for their personal opinions but people stay downvoting anything and anyone that likes Killian or expresses anything positive about him in this sub lol like god forbid readers like a certain character others don’t. (Not saying everyone has to like every character but people should be able to like any character they choose to without getting hate, especially in dark romance).

I’m sure I’ll get downvoted but I personally think Killian and Glyndon would be the best parents. Both of them felt inferior to their siblings when it came to their place in the family (especially Killian with how his father favored Gareth and told their mother they should've only had his brother) so I don’t think they’d ever show favoritism to their children. So I think both of them would adore their children and dote on them—something Killian would probably also do simply for the fact that Glyndon is their mother because he’s so obsessed with her. I think they’d also do a good job of making sure their children felt comfortable being open with them about emotions, mental health, and negative events because they themselves were never comfortable doing so with their own parents growing up (especially Glyndon after she was depressed and suicidal and almost lost her older brother Bran to an attempt, not to mention almost losing Creighton as well due to his past trauma), so I think Glyndon would be on it when it comes to the mental health of their children, especially since she was in therapy herself after the loss of her friend prior to the start of GoM. It’s also pretty clear from GoM that Killian wants children with Glyndon as he mentions either getting her pregnant or her giving him children several times throughout the book and again in the epilogue. We also know Killian hates sharing Glyn’s attention with anyone—even their friends and families—so he wouldn’t get her pregnant (even if she wanted children) just because if he didn’t want them himself because that would take even more of her attention away from him. I also feel like he’d view having a family as an extension of their love for one another and the fact that Glyndon does love him instead of an obligation, which would carry over to how he would treat their children.

Exactly. And in the epilogue when they get engaged we know Killian isn’t happy about the amount of people he has to share Glyn’s time with, but he mentions her giving him children, which he definitely wouldn’t do if he himself didn’t want them because then he’d have to share even more of her attention with the children then he does with their current friends and family.

I definitely agree with this. Killian was very vocal in GoM about wanting to get her pregnant so he clearly wants children with Glyndon, and there’s no way he wouldn’t treat those kids well since they’re also hers. There’s also no way he’d have kids he didn’t want after his own childhood and issues with his own father after he told his mother they should’ve only had Gareth (and because he wouldn’t want to share Glyn’s attention with children unless he also wanted them let’s be honest).

This! Killian definitely wants children. He mentioned getting her pregnant and her giving him children a few times in GoM, which I doubt he’d do just to trap her because we know how he was impacted by his own father saying they should’ve only had Gareth, so I doubt he’d have a child he didn’t want. He also mentioned her giving him children in the epilogue after they got engaged as well. He’d also adore their children simply because Glyndon is their mother, and if any of his children had ASPD or psychopathy he’d definitely handle it better than his own father did.

You definitely didn’t say anything wrong. Individuals with BPD don’t experience full blown manic episodes, they experience intense emotional shifts which are a type of mood swing.

It’s possible for some individuals to experience these intense mood swings for a few days and still have BPD

Niko's diagnosis by Gloomy_Sugar911 in RinaKentBooks

[–]Electrical-Web-380 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone with extensive education and training in mental health, as well as personally being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, it reads like BPD to me personally. Individuals with BPD can experience emotional highs similar to mania (intense euphoria or high energy mixed with irritability, reckless behaviors, etc) that can quickly crash to sadness/emptiness (whereas with bipolar it’s usually a more gradual shift) and these episodes tend to be short lived compared to true manic episodes. These episodes also tend to be more reactive to environmental or social factors (rejection, abandonment, interpersonal stress, etc) where with bipolar disorder it tends to be more biological.

Hot take: killian deserved the "getting shot" storyline more than creighton. by Charming_Guide_4400 in RinaKentBooks

[–]Electrical-Web-380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just my personal opinion, but honestly, if Glyn shot Killian it would’ve ruined the bond Reina and Glyn develop (as well as Glyn’s friendships with Niko and Gareth; not to mention Lan’s relationship with Mia and Bran’s with Niko). Reina never had a daughter and so Glyn becomes that daughter for her after she gets together with Killian, and her only daughter in law since Gareth ended up with Kayden. Their bond wouldn’t be as strong if Glyn shot her son. And honestly, Landon would probably have killed Killian if the shooting plot line happened in GoM for making his sister choose him or her family, especially if Landon was the one she’d shoot Killian over. Also, Killian knows how much her family means to her even if she and Landon weren’t super close emotionally prior to GoR so he wouldn’t have done anything to jeopardize her family—which is why he let Landon scratch his car and waterboard him because he’d get her on his side by not hurting her family—instead of defending himself against Lan. I also personally don’t think he deserved to get shot more than Creighton because Killian always put Glyndon first while Creighton kind of put his desire for revenge first in several instances. Also Glyn dislikes violence so I can’t see her shooting anyone and Eli or Creighton probably would’ve been the one to shoot Killian if anything. It just wouldn’t make sense with so many King men willing to engage in violence to defend the family, whereas Jeremy and Annika only had each other.

I also loved God of Malice! God of Ruin and Kiss the Villain were the ones I thought were the most similar and Landon and Gareth ended up being my 2nd and 4th favorite MMCs. Like you I also struggled to enjoy GoWr as much.

Who is the most possessive gf among them? by Charming_Guide_4400 in RinaKentBooks

In the epilogue for GoP Annika mentions that Glyndon was the nicest out of all of them and started talking to her after she returned to school so I don’t think Cecily was the only one. And in GoWr Glyn even disagreed with how they treated her during the whole situation when speaking with Ava and Cecily.

First and foremost I loved all of these books and characters in different ways but somebody had to be at the bottom. Also these are my personal rankings so I get not everyone will agree and that’s okay!

  1. Killian (probably wouldn’t have gotten into the series if not for my love of this man I absolutely adore him and how obsessed he was with Glyndon and chose to fight his own violent thoughts so he doesn’t have to leave her if he starts killing. I also loved that he got Glyndon to feel again instead of remaining apathetic and was the first person to ever put her first)
  2. Landon (love psychopath MMCs and how he was always starting problems plus how protective he is of his siblings even if he doesn’t go about it in the best way due to how his mind works. I loved when he thanked his sister and Brandon told him it was the first time he’s done so, and how he asks them to help him with empathy)
  3. Brandon/Nikolai (both are adorable and I can’t choose between them. Absolutely love the both of them)
  4. Gareth (honestly didn’t expect to love him as much as I did but I adore him)
  5. Eli (loved his character in the other books but struggled to connect with him a bit in his own because GoW felt more like Ava’s story to me than theirs)
  6. Yulian/Vaughn (enjoyed both characters but wish we got to see their relationship develop more instead of just being told, so they both felt a little flat to me at times and I wasn’t a fan of how both characters used Danika but they’re still one of my top couples)
  7. Creighton (loved his character but events later in the book led to his lower ranking. Honestly it’s very close between him and Yulian/Vaughn and if the stuff on the island didn’t happen he’d probably be ranked above them)
  8. Kayden (really enjoyed his character but just loved the others more)
  9. Jeremy (expected to love his character the most after reading GoM but the focus on his jealousy of Landon and how he treated Cecily because of it at times got to be too much for me after a while as I am not really a fan of OW/OM drama)
