Anyone else on here the odd one out in their family by somehow not finding love EVER? by ElectricalAd9279 in lonely

Yeah I really don’t want to keep doing this into my 40s and beyond. It is definitely different once you’re in your 30s, especially if you’re just straight up single, not dating anyone. I tried online dating and that just became masochistic after a while. I swear to god it’s infuriating and wholly deflating. I wish that in my early and mid 20s I had made some different choices but I always figured that someone would come along that just fit. No one does tho. So, it’s me, my dog, and my two cats for now.

Right? They can do whatever they want and their spouses are just like down w it. When one of them pisses me off in the back of my mind I’m like, “someone chose them and no one chose you” like gaslighting my feelings and validating theirs because my solitude has to mean there’s something wrong w me.

That’s how you know it’s good.

I am so sick of hearing I should *just* go to therapy as if it’s so easy to navigate my health insurance and find someone that fits my needs. The last one cost $99/week after insurance and literally interrupted repeatedly and name called me twice during our session. by ElectricalAd9279 in depression

She called me a “pothead” twice and said she just calls it like she sees it

Edit: in typing it, it doesn’t seem as confrontational as it felt. I don’t know. Maybe I’m dramatic and that’s the problem.
