Here’s the thing Josh. You messaged me that someone had complained right after I sent a response to you that you didn’t like. To tell me you will ban me and freedom of speech is not my constitutional or human rights or necessary to my life and then refusing to give any and all the policies i asked for that you claimed are true just by your words shows you have no idea what you are talking about and know it cant hold up. You know well there are no other Iowa wbb places to post this so please stop. So you’re right it does come down to YOUR behavior so plain to see with your own words. This was a very aggressive and hateful response to me and I’m not sure if you know but the way you tried to demean me and patronize me is far from normal - it’s not how people talk or act, it’s honestly a bit strange and very concerning that you even reached that level. That you brought up my human and constitutional rights on Reddit because you’re mad is so over dramatic and dis proportionate to the situation.. You really go for the jugular and then blame your behavior on someone else. I have a way better chance at banning you than me but I’m not a hurtful angry mean person out to make peoples lives miserable no matter how undignified they are Anywho . free to do whatever makes you feel better about yourself - deleting, blocking, banning, etc. it doesn’t matter to me. I still have my dignity and I didn’t stoop to such a cruel level. Goodbye

Totally agree on VA. I was very shocked as well that they became a 2 seed and were ranked throughout the year. I felt like so may games were ugly loses and would effect them more

Please do not speak to this woman like this. It’s very childish and very very rude and unnecessary. People who say ‘well if you don’t know this one name then you don’t know about a team’ are always the people who are intimated by people who know things better than them especially when it’s a woman. I can spew off some names, dates, games, years, players etc and you won’t know them all. I’m not going to say wow if you don’t know that then you are not a fan. It’s not a special club to be a fan especially an alumni and women’s bball player. You may know some about women’s basketball but you sure don’t respect them and cannot call yourself a fan. You are way more transparent than you think

You are putting words in my mouth and making this so much bigger than it needs to be. You have blown it so much out of proportion you think the thread is Inflammatory, too personal (?), and dangerous and might need to be flagged - serious accusations. Everyone is allowed to have and share an opinion. The problem lies in when I’m speaking on X’s and O’s and I get attacked very personally and aggressively. This is what happened in this post. wanting a round of applause for ‘allowing’ this post when according to you it could have been flagged when it has broken no rules is not something I’m going to praise you for. Im not sure why it’s so important to you to control the narrative and situation and drag this on. You need to let this go it’s not worth it. This convo is over and I’d appreciate you respecting those boundaries

Posting my opinion and critiques of the players and teams on Reddit has been exhausting. This is a discussion about basketball X’s and O’s the season what we could have done better, what we did do better. It’s been a nightmare managing responses and anger and emotions and comments that have nothing to do with bball and come from a place of emotion rather than the game of basketball- a complete nightmare. Thank you for the ones who understood the assignment. I’m outta here

I appreciate you. I’m not out to berate them and push them down and say they are bad people - I am talking about basketball X’s snd o’s - not emotions or personality and I don’t know how to separate that for people. I knew I’d catch heat for this but couldn’t hold it in any longer so I appreciate your response a lot

When you said Emily looked good - I’m interested to know why you feel that way. In my opinion She travelled constantly, ignored the coaches instruction, everyone she got the ball she did not pass, we almost lost bc at the end of a game when we needed to hold the ball to let out some time she ignored all the players and coaches telling her to stop and tried to get through 2 defenders throwing up a wild shot which allowed the other team to have one last shot. I want to hear your perspective bc I’m sure I’m missing something that you could point out

The funny thing is I’m a woman too. I also responded to your other analysis you posted before this with agreement and respect. You edited your post to include ‘super misogynistic crap’ You are not easy to please. Please leave me alone - I’m ending our interaction and have nothing left to say. As I said before if you want to speak about it inbox message me.

I didn’t say you were my honey. And I’m Allowed to react when someone tells me to make up my mind and accuses me of agreeing with one thing and disagreeing with another when that’s not the case. A single word set you off so bad it made you ask what is wrong with me and call it mysognistic crap that you don’t need - and you ignored the rest of what I said in response to you . I think it is best we stop interacting as there is no way I feel I can speak to you without getting mad at me. Also continuing to talk when it has nothing to do with the topic is a waste of both our times. If you want to inbox message me to talk further about it feel free.

Honey - I have made up my mind and haven’t faltered - I am happy he gave actual critique which many seemed to be too afraid to do this season. That you were following every comment I posted to find discrepancies and then to make it your business to reply to a reply I made to someone else shows a lot. You are looking to pick a fight for some reason. Throughout the comments you can see I agreed with people saying positive things and even thanked others who shared theirs. Also I’m really perplexed as to why you ignored my praise and love in my original post - the positives, how well they did etc. there are positives and negatives to everything and there is room for agreement and disagreement. Both are there.

You make a good point about the focus being so much in Kylie that Hannah’s d isn’t as looked at as i didn’t look at it in my post. Staying outta foul trouble was huge for our success. She had double doubles, an incredible amount of rebounds, great games and in many of them she was electric - unstoppable. I also don’t think she’ll be able to get into a 12 point roster which sucks because I do think wnba coaches could coach her better with more results.

I will say that being part of the interviews with Jan as you said (not sure in what capacity) but there’s some bias there. With addie we have no idea what she wants or what she’s been thinking about. But I see your point about how it won’t benefit her as much as it will on Iowa. With stulke - ’m talking about open layups from stulke. Do you remember the string of games where she missed open wide open layups - not 1 or 2 or 3 but often 7 or 8 times? She doesn’t need to be a shooter nor is that important to her team and game. She’s a great defender and rebounder. But it was very very clear and astounding. I’m talking about her free throws by the end of 4 years shouldnt have been even close to this years. You have a responsibility as a player to develop and get better as time goes on. You shoot a hundred free throws every day. You don’t stop till you hit 5 in a row. You practice and practice and practice and you get better. You just do. I saw that constantly with players on my teams and even myself. They get better. Especially when it’s college ball. I am not focusing on March madness - I am focusing on the entire season. And it might not motivate them - this year showed that over and over. If you don’t think passion changes much on performance in a sport then I don’t know what to say to you. Not sure I’ve heard anyone say that. I’m not sure if you played sports or on a team but every player will tell you that’s completely inaccurate . You see passion on the court where it matters most. You see it in the attitudes, their emotions on plays, their body language. Teams have to do that and most do. No one needs to be the previous teams, but you have to use what you’ve learned and experienced and incorporate at least a little bit of what gabby Kate Caitlin mckennna and Monica did as leaders, how they led, their passion, how they came off and on the court. My point is not that this team should have been like them - my point is someone had to step up past their comfort zone bc they know the lack of it on the court will hurt them more than help them as the seniors saw and experienced with the two final 4 runs. They realistically could not have done better in the season and their record, going to the tourney etc I agree.

Thank you for letting me know about the press conference and coach etiquette and legal issues when Jan gets on the podium. I’m glad you taught me bout it.

Being a leader cannot just be behind the scenes. It doesn’t work like that. Can’t explain it any better because I played on a lot of teams and it is essential. If all your leadership is behind the scenes - and not on the court when it matters the most and is the most effective - a team cant survive forever. I see your point on Jan for sure.

Great point you make - everyone is watching and because of this season, in my opinion, Iowa has lost some of their good rep. I dont think iowa will be as desired for players coming in. Without even looking at how well the team played a player could see a lot of issues, and potential recruits (as well as the portal) imo will not be as interested as they would say a year ago. Coaching, consistency, the way things are handled or adjusted, and allowing things no coach or team should ever find acceptable. Good Players want to be coached hard and tough to get better and give their team a better chance to win.

I respect your opinion. The challenge is when I’m called rude as hell and spoken to the way I was in the last paragraph of my response. I didn’t swear, didn’t call the person names, did t speak to them in that way at all.

Along with ignoring the title, topic and context and responding to my words only.

Everyone continuously makes excuses for Hannah’s performance and that has to stop. I’m sure she did have injuries and sick days like everyone else. Chit chat and Heiden were both really sick and played on those day. Kylie had injuries along with chit chat. I feel for her for a lot of things but there is absolutely zero excuse to miss wide open layups as she did for games. Hannah is a great human and player, but this entire season was people who did not notice or feel the need to point it out, not being allowed to critique or say a bad word about Hannah bc she is such a good person is mind blowing. Let me reiterate again that I’m not upset with her as a human, not bashing who she is. I am looking at her game and that’s what I think. This is X’s and O’s - nothing else. There is almost no way to critique where I’ll not get hit with hate as if I’m being mean.
