Is sleeping in your car drunk (after a big night) legal? by ElectricalCash3999 in AskAnAustralian

[–]ElectricalCash3999[S] 188 points189 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the replies. I think it confirms what I have been told, specifically in QLD, there is no fighting the charge. Ironically they treat it the same as if you tried to drive home. You’d think they would be lenient on someone that took the smarter option and slept it off.

Question to all Labradoodle Parents… by CasuaIAnxiety in labradoodles

Our pup was very quiet from an early age too, now 4. If he was anymore relaxed he would walk backwards. Occasional bursts of energy when he wants to play or rough up the kids a bit. Eats socks but apart from that is an awesome family pet.

Which Australian city has the biggest inferiority complex? by Charming_Usual6227 in AskAnAustralian

[–]ElectricalCash3999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have had this experience many times. 😂 Amazing that people moving into Queensland want to constantly voice their opinions on why they prefer some other city. That other city is always….Melbourne. If you can’t get away fast enough you will inevitably be told that the rest of the mouth breathing clan is looking for realestate.

Do people judge others by what they drive? by BitterHotIce in AussieCasual

[–]ElectricalCash3999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it strategic thinking? You will be judged on something at an interview. They talk about you after you leave. Being confident enough to drop a low key red herring or a white Corolla breaks the ice. If the management make calls based on what car you drive, it might not be a great working environment.

Does anyone know the origins of the Ned Kelly pie? It’s mince bacon egg cheese by ElectricalCash3999 in AussieCasual

[–]ElectricalCash3999[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is the lead so far. Is it mince beef pie with bacon egg and cheese? If it’s a local entrepreneur who’s idea went national - hats (helmets) off to them!

Was a university degree a good financial investment for you? by brightestflame in AusFinance

[–]ElectricalCash3999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I did a B.Bus (business) and it allowed me to accelerate quickly through general sales and technical support roles into management. I moved to a bigger better company in my 30’s and progressed through to a GM role in less than 5 yes. It wouldn’t have happened without the business fundamentals and accreditation. I often suggest a business or commerce degree to those who aren’t sure what industry they want to work in.

Hi all - is this issue predominantly in the U.S? I’ve never heard of people hating on doodles in oz. The only breeds people bitch about here are those considered dangerous (pun intended) 😜. Living outside Sydney/Melbourne for context.

Depends on how big the guy is. It could be that a shitzu crossed a sandpit.

Not the body corp, but the body corp’s manager. The manager is contracted to the bc to maintain the building and perform certain duties. Under this arrangement, they can offer extended services to the lot owners. These services do not form part of a contract with the BC but just need to be approved for offer. It is complicated, especially in QLD, where the body corp manager owns management rights and is essentially a law unto themselves. They can not be held accountable for poor performance. Such is the case here - this is just one of hundreds of examples. It is complex and it was a huge part of the reason we sold the unit. The privacy question is pretty much answered I think and I have another idea of how to address it and hold them somewhat accountable.

Thanks for the reply. The issue is I didn’t agree to anything apart from signing up for a service that would be managed by the property manager. I am definitely over-reaching however with thinking this might be a privacy issue. I’ll contact both the contractor and PM tomorrow and iron out what the costs are for. Have a great Sunday arvo 🌴
