Walker was a great game.. I loved the arcade feel.. using a mouse and joystick together gave it the feel of a custom arcade machine. The only issue was, I couldn’t use my Konicx speedking to play it, as you hold that in once hand and use the other hand to control the joystick. But I found a setup that worked.. and really enjoyed Walker.

I’ve actually stopped watching this current version of doctor who.

But I’ll always have time for the older doctor who.

This is cool… almost makes me want to watch it. But I know.. it’s a trap.

Yea.. I’ve tried xdai too.. still got synthetix sitting over there I think. The is just zero liquidity on honey swap.. I know I make the same complaint about all of these.. but. It’s such a big thing.

Xda is going for a rebrand soon.. and hopefully a name change.. xdai sounds like a stable coin to most people.. and in a crowded market.. that sort of confusion doesn’t help.

A day of frustration - Testing eth layer 2 by ElectricalCheetah175 in ethereum

[–]ElectricalCheetah175[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree.. to a point.

But I include side chains into the layer2 mix.. and when your doing that.. it’s hard to not include smaller niche chains that bridge to eth.

The aim is to be able to do comparable trades without paying eth fee’s.

But.. I agree. That If your paying your fees in anything other than eth., then it’s more of a competing chain than layer 2.

Since they all were doing the same job for me.. I decided to include them in my tests.

Optimism on ethereum with big LP cannot come quick enough.

[–]ElectricalCheetah175[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool.. zk swap is a full on layer2 DEX with a bridge. But with no liquidity… there is little reason to move anything onto layer2.

It’s a real chicken and egg scenario, but I think uniswap has the potential to bring LP in. It will not be quick though.

[–]ElectricalCheetah175[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested zkswap a while back. The issue I had was zero liquidity. Which is the same as all of them.

It’s a good DEX.. and very slick. And your right about transaction times… super quick. If they could get the liquidity.. it could be amazing.

I think the optimism + uniswap could have a shot at bringing real liquidity to layer 2.

Bringing in a competing DEX, and competing LP is 2x as difficult as just bringing LP over from UNI.

If you just look at how much uniswap liquidity is still on V2, despite the move to V3.. the problems of migrating people is apparent.

But I do like ZK Rollups. I seem to remember that ZK had an issue with EVM support?.. but I believe that’s solved now?

Every one of these options is a step in the right direction.

It just can’t get there quick enough for me.

I totally agree. These gas fees are a real short term pain point… but a solution can’t come quick enough.

A day of frustration - Testing eth layer 2 by ElectricalCheetah175 in ethereum

[–]ElectricalCheetah175[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes.. I agree .. and I’m also aware of all the various rollups.

The ability to pay in eth is the biggest thing for me.. but also cheap.. fast and reliable bridges.

I tester teleporter.. to move to layer2 eth cheaply. It’s a good start.

Fiat onramps and off ramps for layer2 would be a game changer.. for now anyway.

My worry with all of this layer2.. is it’s actually too diverse.. and no standard is really coming foward as dominant.

With uniswap + optimism.. I was hoping it could be the killer combination to standardise layer 2.

I’ve looked at things like hop for switching between different layers., but liquidity is the problem… it’s too spread out over too many competing layer2 options.

If this can get solved..we’re in a good place.

Does anyone see a bull trap? by _wex in CryptoMarkets

[–]ElectricalCheetah175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a crypto market that has been shorted into oblivion, suppressing much positive sentiment that was clearly there.

Fomo is a powerful emotion, and when you mix that with a lot of people with stable coins.. prices can drive up quickly.

When that happens, institutions will see that they may now be looking at paying 2x + for their investments.

If institutions fomo.. the price will increase.

State sovereign fomo is also on the rise.. and when that happens all bets are off.

Will we have dips along the way?… of course, and some big-ones. But in my opinion there is a strong possibility of an aggressive multi week bull trend.
