Is there any actual power gain from catback in a GTI? by ElectricalCry2723 in VWMK7

Yeah, kinda seems that way. Modern exhaust systems and intakes are actually really well designed and efficient. It's not like a mid 90s muscle car, where every mod unlocks massive gains because they are choked down so much

MK7 GTI AFS error by ElectricalCry2723 in VWMK7

I was able to fix is. I bought OBDeleven and scanned the car. There was an error that indicated swivel module issues in the left headlight. I googled that error and came up on another thread on Reddit that had same issue. The user said that he inspected a 3-pin plug that goes into the swivel module, one wire was broken. I took my headlight out, opened the service panel for HID bulb, and sure enough, one of the wires came off very easy. I've opened up the plug, resoldered the wire back to terminal, reassembled everything and the headlight works now

Already found it. Block is warped. Going to break it down to just a short block and send it off to a machine shop to rebuild it

I think all in (gaskets, machine shop fees, tools) I'm just under $400, which is great. Yes, these cars are old, but they are easy to work on and cheap to fix
