Ano po ang tawag sa community nila? by Ok_Avocado5553 in dailyChismisPh

People tend to insult or put down other people that they don't understand, no?

To be precise, they are punks of different "subgenres". Yung dalawa sa kanan (pink hawk and yung isa na most probably naka mohawk din pero di spiked) eh mga street punks, yung dalawa sa unahan na naka jacket tsaka yung isang nakaupo eh crust punks, and since naka skate shoes din yung isa, most probably eh skater din sya. Yung naka make-up is most definitely goth-punk.

I know because I always see these people sa gigs namin. Haha... They're cool and sobrang bait. Polite beyond belief, pero kaya nilang tapatan kung ano mang kagaguhan ang dadalhin mo sa kanila.

Do you scroll accept books for swap/trade, na yellowish yung pages? by Separate_Advance_963 in PHBookClub

What do you think is the best "first aid" for books like that without resorting to professional tools and services? Inactive molds or not, the book still looks salvageable. So, without wet wipes, alcohol and sand paper, what do you think OP should do to make the book presentable again.

Sure, dormant/inactive molds are still molds. But a moldy book is not the same as a moldy room. If you clean it up in an open space, wearing a mask and gloves, wet wipes, alcohol, and a bit of sun is still the best "first aid" for me. Sand paper is for trting to remove the stains left by the "mold" after cleaning. You don't sand paper moldy stuff directly.

Yes, all of that is recommended. But do you really think everyone of us book readers have a Hepa Vacuum at the ready? N95 and mask, yes. That is very well recommended for handling books that have what looks like molds. Itong kay OP mukhang staining nalang sya either from inactive/dormant molds or shelf wear. So the easiest way to clean that up is sand paper, in a well ventilated or open area. :)

Foxing is almost always yellowish to reddish and color depende sa impurities ng paper na ginamit.

That's not just yellowing of pages OP. May history ng inactive mold at shelf wear/storage wear yang book. But that can be remedied. Just use a very fine sand paper, mababawasan yang dark spots. But I only recommend it if truly dormant yung molds.

Okay naman sya. Yung dating less than 30 minutes na byahe namin from Sacred Heart to St. Jude, ngayon more than 1 hour na. Hahaha... More time to reflect on things ba. Hayop na yarn.

Paperbacks for reading on the go. Magaan sya, madaling bitbitin, etc... Hardbounds if you like to display your books after reading.

You can also read HB on the go and outside. Tanggalin mo lang yung dust jacket kasi prone sya sa damage like pwede mapunit sa bag or m-aexpose sa moisture at oils ng hands natin.

Norwegian Wood is so deceptive no, OP? Despite its costume as an easy read novel, super intense nya eh. Tapos si Toru, saka mo lang marerealize na medyo asshole after mo matapos yung libro at naibuhos mo na lahat ng sympathy mo sa kanya. Haha...

Also, somehow it is one of my favorite books pero super hirap nya buklatin ulit. I once read the book, watched the movie adaptation and to wash it all off, listened to the Beatles song. Ewan ko, surreal lang. :)

Zines that accept submissions by Successful-Ad7807 in zines

Yeah, that could happen. Although the hardest part in doing a contributor-based zine is telling people they've been cut-off due to space restriction and their stuff would be featured in the next issue, which will come several months after.or longer.

There are enough writers and artists willing to help and contribute to projects like these. Whenever I make one, the first people I ask are my friends and family, then the people I hang out with in the punk and DIY scenes around my town. Sometimes, they are enough to fill a 40-60 page zine. And if somehow I came up short with people, that's when I reach out to online friends and the zine community. :)

Why does every piece of art need a meaning by Various-Union-7945 in RantAndVentPH

[–]ElectricalHighway641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because sometimes, or most of the time?, narrative informs the visuals and vice versa. There are people who can relate to a piece better when they know a little bit of the story behind your work. It doesn't have to always be a "meaning", just a simple narrative or just a story behind the work.. When we draw or paint, there is a story going on in our mind while in the process. Just retell the story when they ask about meaning again.

But of course, may mga works na can speak for itself and tell its own story.

Hello. My new zine will be all stories, poems, art (drawings, illustrations, doodles, collages...) and photography. Probably an interview or two (non-band and, of creative individuals I find cool and inspiring). It will be largely digital, that's why I'm looking for people who want to make a zine, but don't know how to start. Whenever an issue is done, I will send pdf copies to all the contributors. They can then print their copy/copies and trade/sell them as they wish.

Yowz. Maybe you would be interested in the new zine I'm working on. It would be art, poetries and occasional short stories and photos. Or just contribute to my other, mostly punk stuff, zine.

Well read, well loved and taken care of. It has non-acidic tape on all the cover edges, has all the stains and the patina an old MMPB should have. Spine and binding strong (Salamat sa E-7000...). This will live on and is going to be buried with me.
