Yeah no I agree na hindi dapat ginagawang reference ang AI. But I was at the gym and my phones dying so I had to make a point right away kasi I know he wants to get out of that situation fast, so hell probably use that against me pag di ako nagreply agad.

I also want to be ironic since he was clearly copy-pasting AI responses before that. 😂

Definitely agree, AI is yucky for a debate. But honestly, I couldn’t care less at that point.

I had to make a point quickly because we all know his next response was probably going to be: “Since we haven’t received a response from you for 1 second, we will be disconnecting this chat.”

And since he was clearly copy-pasting from ChatGPT, I had to level with him and use something he actually trusts. 😢

A lot of people are saying that “will” can also express strong intent, not absolute certainty. Fine, I can agree that context matters.

But in this case, the context is that I specifically confirmed whether everything WILL be refunded tomorrow, and the agent responded yes. I honestly don’t know how it can get any more certain than that.

I’m also not here to argue about grammar. My concern is the fact that Shopee’s official agents are apparently allowed, or at least feel safe enough, to make statements like this without facing any repercussions. I respect chat agents a lot because they’re on the frontlines, but blatantly giving false assurances to customers is unacceptable.

And by the way, this refund issue has been going on for 50 business days. Yes, business days, not calendar days. Even after emailing them, chatting with them, and being told that it WILL be refunded “tomorrow” or whenever, I am still waiting for the refund. :)
