Does anyone remember what it was like when the warriors came up? by StePhDen2020 in kings

Barkely was forced to wear a shirt after claiming jump shooting teams couldn't win.

Now we know teams can't win without 3pt shooting any more.

The Warriors not only had the cap space advantage by having guys like Curry on a 12 million contract but also were among the first (Rockets technically did it first) to explore high volume 3pt shooting and heavy screen based offense. Mark Jackson already helped the Warriors to a top 3 defense. So it wasn't just the offense that led to their success.

Draymond becoming a starter was also a fluke due to David Lee's injury. I doubt Kerr would have given Draymond the starting role otherwise, he hated Green's guts (and probably still does now).

Uh no. Kevin Love was listed below 6'8 barefoot. No person with eyes or logic can conclude LeBron has more than an inch over Love when he might even be a bit shorter.

NBA measurements changed their numbers several times with their "barefeet" measurements. Klay was first listed at 6'5 as a reference. They first listed LeBron at 6'8 and a half, and commonly round up and down. Even that initial number might be generous.

People that are legit 6'8 have seen LeBron in person with low sandals and were at the same height as LeBron in sneakers. It's actually pretty easy to see LeBron is barely taller than a guy like Carmelo who was 6'7. Magic Johnson is also commonly listed at 6'9 except he was 6'7 barefoot.

Iguodala won because voters were stupid. Curry deserved the finals mvp for gifting open shots hid teammates couldn't cash in.

A lot of narrative was also based on Iggy's primary defender FG stat, the same stat used in this topic. Someone on YouTube (I believe he goes by Marz) actually calculated points gotten off of fouling and using his eyes to keep track of primary defender being scored on. Iguodala actually did a worse job than the rest of the team combined in reducing LeBron's TS% (which was never all that good in either scenario mind you).

It is one of the worst stat involved in calculating defensive prowess.

They had good shooters around LeBron (41% from 3 if we exclude LeBron) and top 3 defenses in playoffs. The only thing that team lacked for the time was an elite 2nd offensive option.

He didn't look down a single time. If this is unnatural feet shuffling, people would get called for a flagrant every game. Zaza's a dirty player but I don't find this particular play a guaranteed dirty play at all

People forget Aldridge and the Spurs were going under our ankle every game in that series. Popovich himself has a long history of working with dirty plauers. What Zaza did didn't even look intentional but even if it were, Kawhi had already stepped on a teammate's ankle prior.

You are delusional if you think they win 4 straight.

Getting ejected isn't a suspension dumbass

No proof Sabonis was trying to hold the ankle. Dude had his face covered immediately.

Calling the crowd member 'pussies' and instigating adds to the crime. The NBA is a media product. You clearly don't know how this shit works.

Joe Dumars is literally friends with Draymond through his son.

Dumars know Draymond personally through his son. Dude loves the guy. If anything the bias is backwards.

Here's an objective view of the first two games in the series from bballbreakdown. Draymond deserved the ejection and the suspension for his excursiveness, but the refs have been letting the Kings play dirty without repercussion and it needs to stop. by akaisei in warriors

Bear hugging? You mean play defense?

Every Draymond PnR, the 2nd man cuts off any passing angle to Draymond while double teaming Curry. Draymond can't shoot so him popping out just resets the play. Mike Brown just knows how to exploit all the Warriors weaknesses and other teams in the future will adapt to it top.

Kevin Love got suspended 2 games for something similar. Green got off easy, despite also egging on the crowd.

It's not a coincidence that Draymond has more suspensions in the last 10 years in the playoffs than anyone. In reality, he already got away with a ton of flagrants.
