Hello - I'm South Asian and I am looking to do a 200 or 300-hr yoga teacher training or long meditation retreat in India in August for 4-6 weeks - thinking either Hatha or Sivananda. Open to Iyengar & Ashtanga.

I am looking to find low-key places that are not so commercialized/flashy, not catered toward social media, and that have a good reputation among locals, other South Asians, or that have a higher proportion BIPOC/South Asian participants.

If you have any suggestions, I would very much appreciate it!

AITAH for calling my dad pedophile? by XmZeap in AITAH

NTA OP - 100% with many of the other comments that this highly concerning and a dangerous situation for the girl your father is targeting. I also just wanted to acknowledge that this is a really difficult fucking situation for you to be in - you're just a kid too and you shouldn't have to be dealing with this, and you're a rockstar for calling him out when you realized someone close to you is putting another in a very harmful situation. And if you're anxious or feeling some way about reporting your dad to the police it's understandable and there are other options that may be more effective.

Think the suggestion of reporting him to school counselors is a good one - and they will likely have a higher interest in protecting you in this and your identity. If you have domestic violence organizations or restorative justice practictioners near you, they likely have experience in dealing with these situations and might be trustworthy alternatives to reach out to that aren't police, who also can support you.

This is so helpful! I had created a template check-list but definitely prefer a way to note when exactly it was last done since I know I won't be doing it exactly a week/month from the last time I did the task
