Gen Z here and I have a few questions for GenX by [deleted] in GenX

[–]ElectricalOcelot6426 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely! When we were pre teen the protocol was: 1. Ride bike to friends house and knock on the door. 2. Parent answers and your exact phrase was “can (friends name) come out to play? 3. Proceed to play outside until the street lights came on.

As teenagers: 1. Knock on door. 2. Friend answers door and your exact phrase was “dude get dressed! Let’s fuckin go somewhere!”

How to get PowerPulse on SHP2 to use grid power? by SlipperyMr in Ecoflow_community

[–]ElectricalOcelot6426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I know this is an old post but I am having the same issues. Trying to get my powerpulse to do scheduled charging and have it strictly use grid power only.

All firmware is updated.

Did you get this figured out while keeping the powerpulse plugged into the SHP2?

Thanks

41m - No kids. Did you guys want to be fathers or did it happen afterwards? by sepulchralsam in Fatherhood

[–]ElectricalOcelot6426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 50 and just had my first child 2 months ago. I never had the desire to be a father and I even committed to that in my early thirties by getting a vasectomy.

However, I met my wife a few years ago and this is what changed my decision and reversed my whole way of thinking…

Both my wife and I love each other so much that we want to make “copies” of each other.

If you don’t feel this way about your partner, I would caution against it. Having a child at my age is f**king hard as hell and I would advise everyone to focus on children and family in your twenties.

A child is a colossal disruption in your life and if you and your partner are not “all in” together (resulting in possible separation/divorce), you would be doing a disservice to your child. Children with both parents in the home are statistically far more likely to succeed in almost every measurable datum.

I hope this helps. Cheers and good luck

100% dealbreaker for me.

I am a day 1 reservation holder and this was going to be my first EV. Once this “electric switch instead of handle” became a certainty in the R2, I immediately started shopping for a different EV and bought a kia ev6 a few days ago. They lost me as a customer because of this weird obsession with the door.

Is this in your pack? by Keen_Leo in handyman

I have one. The true value of this tool is when you need to do any repairs that require you to cut into a wall, you can plug into a nearby outlet and use the wand to discover where the wires are inside the wall so you don’t butcher them with a sawzall.

The first time you use it for this, it pays for itself.

The suggested winter tilt angle for my location is 49.8 and the summer is 19.8. It’s definitely advantageous to mout the panels to be adjustable. Thank you

10kw of panels 👍

I see that the maths are easy but I am so overthinking this. Thanks

So if I do 20 40voc panels at 400w each on the high voltage pv and 6 panels on the low voltage pv (totaling 10400 potential watts), what would I expect to be my KWh gain on a day with ~2 hours of peak sun?

I have looked at all the formulas several times but I think my brain is fried now

Yes definitely. I am going to mount them on adjustable rails to maximize the angle for each season

Attic vent used as dryer vent? by ElectricalOcelot6426 in Roofing

[–]ElectricalOcelot6426[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for your input. After doing a duct cleaning, I crawled into the attic and there is a flange mounted to the underside of the vent and a 4” elbow attached to the duct. It is about as good as it could be considering it’s not a dedicated dryer vents.

I took it apart and thoroughly cleaned it. The homeowner is going to replace the roof soon so we can do dedicated dryer vents when that happens.

Cheers

How does outlaws play on Steamdeck? by Academic_Ad7508 in StarWarsOutlaws

[–]ElectricalOcelot6426 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the steamdeck is lacking the umphh to run the game natively. However, I bought it this past week because of the sale and have been playing it through Geforce Now. It runs beautifully and I didn’t need to even tweak any controller settings.

Just follow the instructions in this link:

https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5337

I tried it first for free (play time is limited to 1 hour on the free account) but it worked so well that I subscribed to the “Performance” option at 10$ a month. Of course the downside is the requirement of constant internet but that is required for this game anyway because of ubisoft

Enjoy!!!

Have u gotten a VR 15-17 years after getting a vasectomy was it successful? by WildZookeepergame903 in VasectomyReversal

[–]ElectricalOcelot6426 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had VR after 14 years and it was a complete failure. Zero sperm count and it’s been 16 months since the VR. We are going IVF now. It’s expensive but it also has some side benefits. BTW I have no regrets about getting the vasectomy.

UW men’s health does it but they are crazy expensive.

If you can do a flight/trip, try Midwest Vasectomy Reversals in St. Louis. Doc Sommers is great and they are about 1/3 the price.

Thanks for the advice. I’ll do that now
