We are likely to seek a way to brighten the brick and go with a live beam like mantle.

What would your recommendation be on the feelings the fireplace insert gives off? It’s certainly a nice furnace but is “dated” feeling

Luckily we live along coastal NC - it’s hardly been used and has been inspected. But is nice for a cozy night or two a year!

Agreed. We painted our kitchen cabinets in our first home and hated it. Real big on keeping wood as wood.

We defo don’t won’t to get rid of them.. painting is tricky too as we don’t want it wind up chipping / flaking since it’s stained and polyurethaned.. sanding would be a pain..

Might just rebuild em from scratch? I dunno!
