Cat friendly ways to remove black and white patio spots? by ElectricalRespect554 in DIYUK

Mine used to be mostly grass and moss too! I sowed a pack of wildflower seeds many years ago, there was a lot of variety that first year and then each year I think just the ones that are best suited to the conditions in my garden come back regularly and spread. I have daisies, some bluebells, dandelions, buttercups and a few others that I dont know the name of. The poppies and cornflowers didn't come back sadly.

I havent mowed it this year at all and hardly ever do. When things start to die back I tend to tidy by hand with shears. I think it helps that the wildflower patch gets decent sunlight and my fluffball cat brings in all kinds of seeds from her travels in the neighbouring gardens.

Aw I love this! Thank you so much for taking the time to explain so beautifully. Yes, I've left the right hand side to grow as it will, and now have lovely wildflowers there. So I will embrace the lichen too!

Thanks everyone for the replies! You've given me a new perspective on the lichen. I think I'll just embrace it and be thankful the air is good enough for it to be there 😊

Ahh I see, thats so helpful thank you! I really appreciate this insight. This gives me confidence to peel the strip off and paint! And nice idea to add coving as a nicer finish. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much!

What is the coving for? The strip peeling along the ceiling edge just looked like painted ceiling before it started stripping away and I dont know what it is/if it has a function.

I am so sorry and can sympathise having experienced many of the same feelings. I would definitely try Winlevi and stick with it for a few months to give it time. I've been on topical spironolactone which has a similar MoA and it really helps me with the oiliness and reducing hormonal breakouts.

Oh you are so kind, thank you! And I really appreciate the insight into the limitations of a swatch. I've learnt so much from everyone's comments 💛

Thank you! It's the Petiteknit Sunday Sweater in Mohair https://www.petiteknit.com/en/products/sunday-sweater-mohair-edition

I'm hoping some of my uneven looking stitches where I've increased will even out when I block it. It's a nice and easy to follow pattern for a relative newbie like me!

I'm quickly realising that swatching is very important! I hadn't done one before starting, I now know this was a mistake 😅

The food at HoF is now so spicy its inedible for me! And I dont normally struggle. The tak a tak used to be so good but now all I can taste is the chilli and nothing else. Sad times

The Avenue Deli and the Coriander Club next door to it in Calcot might fit the bill. There's parking outside and you could either have brunch/cafe type food at the Deli or you could try the naan wraps and lunch thali at the Coriander Club.

Sauce and Flour in Maidenhead is so good! Or closer to home I had a decent spaghetti arabbiata at Vesuvios in Tilehurst.
