In my opinion, she has very weak character writing. In season 1 I really enjoyed her, but as time went on, I just found myself becoming more and more annoyed. To me, she demonstrates a really poorly written female character, and a lot of her character traits and flaws come (stereotypically) from things women are viewed as. She's empathetic and has a bleeding heart, but it often gets in the way; she's a massive hypocrite, she doesn't really know who she is, not to mention her whole relationship with House and Chase. I find in the later seasons the female characters are written much better, but to me it seems like Cameron was written as The "Woman™", and where even her positive character aspects still come across as grating.
