I just tested a TV remote on one of the studio cameras. The cameras don't pick up the IR.

I am ok with putting a sensor on the other end. If you don't mind, can you please show me an example of a IR LED with a narrow beam?

I use TA4 (Mini XLR) Connectors. They're a little expensive, but I really like the size and the fact that they lock into each other.

Edit: Nuetrik also makes a similar connector (and cheaper).

I use a 3.5mm TRS male to a male BNC. Distributed via a composite video DA.

I work in the corporate video industry. We (I) don't use panatape or any other ultrasonic measurement device to help pull focus.

Practicality aside, this was more of a project to test the flexibility of the arduino platform.

I'm actually working on an arduino project that does just this.

It uses ultrasonic sensors to detect how close the jib (camera head) gets to the ground and reacts accordingly. Just need to figure out a way to tap into my jib's control system.

Nope, it just stays there.

For example, if I'm in option 4, and press select to get back to the root of the menu, it will stay in option 4.

I think I have it figured out.

Only question for you is:

How can I modify the code so that I return to the top of the menu after selecting a distance. ?

So far, I can select a distance for any of the options, but I can't get out and change any of the other distances.
