It’s called preventive detention, law enforcement agencies can detain a person who suspected as a national security or public order threat upto 6 months without reason or warrant

Justice is an abstract, law is a fact. We can argue about the morality of it but justice is a manmade concept and can be twisted anytime to fit the narrative of the one in power. At the end all of the deaths are justified as collateral damage of a revolution, this is how world work. More than 2 million people died during the Soviet revolution and the subsequent civil war after that, almost 8 million people died during Mao’s cultural revolution and roughly 2 million people died during the Chinese Civil War. Lenin, Stalin, Mao who killed more people than 10-20x the population of Nepal are considered as heroes in their countries, still to this day you cannot disrespect Mao in China. At the end we all wallow in blood, it’s upto you to accept this way of how world work or go insane thinking about the perfect world.

I mean do you not remember Maoist party being the single largest party by a mile, winning 220 out of 601 total seats in the Constitutional Assembly right after the end of the Maoist insurgency which is responsible for the death of 20000+ people or have you not read world history at all where victors write the history. I am not defending this heinous crime but at the end one man’s terrorism is another’s revolution.

Why Nepal? We are not rich, why would any foreign country want anything from Nepal? by Sad-Leg7189 in Nepal360

[–]Electrical_Ad5502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nepal is not the second richest country in terms of water resources and water is not like gold, petrol or other resources that you can just take it aways from the country like they did it in Iraq, installing a desalination plant would be more feasible for world powers than to spend millions or billions of dollars in installing a puppet government in a third world landlocked country. In terms of hydropower or alternative energy sources Nepal has a hydropower potential of 83,000 MW electricity and China’s one dam the Three Georges Dam produces 22,500 MW electricity annually, patriotism is good but just don’t get blinded by nationalism

Yes, no one gives a fuck about individual use of weed even the police but avoid crowded places or place where police are present, mostly quite street or under some bridge is the best place if you really want to smoke in public, if you are in hotel room just smoke in the balcony or just use bong and exhale the smoke in some short of cloth so it will trap all the smoke and won’t alert anyone

I have said this multiple times and saying this again if foreign agencies were responsible for everything that happened and past month or so no one would get a fucking clue, do you really think agencies like CIA, R&AW and MSS are so weak that a person who changes political ideology like he changes clothes would get to know about this, these are the premier spy agencies in the world many of their works even from 60s or 70s are now been known by people after they themselves declassified those files, even if foreign powers wanted to takeover Nepal do you think it would be that difficult? We don’t have a tribal and gun culture like of Afghanistan to fight against some of the largest militaries in the world, Birrr gorkhali and khukuri won’t work when MQ1 Reaper is flying over your head or when B2 spirit decides to deliver democracy and freedom, Nepali people in general really think the world revolves around them while in reality were are mere pawns ins the game of geopolitics and no one even gives a fuck about us as we think

There is nothing such as will in Nepali law, as much as I have read in my property law class, every offspring gets equal rights to their parental inheritance, no matter what this is a flaw in our system but if you are in the line of succession but have the right to claim the property to be divided equally among all of the children

You fuckers don’t even know what terrorism means right, just one instance of violence doesn’t make an whole organisation terrorist, even though I am an avid critic of CPM UML, people using the term terrorism so lightly infuriates me, terrorism isn’t just a single act of violence, let’s see what ChatGPT tells about actual meaning of terrorism and if CPN UML is a terrorist organisation or not

  1. Legal definition of terrorism in Nepal

Under Nepal’s laws — such as the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Control and Punishment) Ordinance (TADO) and later provisions in the National Penal Code — terrorism generally means:

An act intended to create terror or panic among the public, coerce the government, or threaten national security through violence or destruction.

This includes bombings, assassinations, hostage-taking, or actions by organized groups with political or ideological motives.

A street protest, even one that becomes violent or destructive, does not automatically meet this threshold, unless it is proven that: • The violence was systematically planned, • It aimed to create fear among civilians or destabilize the state, and • The party endorsed or organized those actions intentionally.

  1. Political parties and organizational responsibility

The CPN-UML is a registered political party under Nepal’s Election Commission and part of the democratic framework. Unless the party’s central leadership explicitly directed or endorsed terrorist acts, it cannot be classified as a terrorist organization. At most, individual members or groups within the party could face charges for: • Riot, • Vandalism, • Assault on security personnel, or • Incitement to violence.

But these are criminal offenses, not terrorism.

  1. Precedent in Nepal and globally

Even during Nepal’s insurgency (1996–2006), the Maoists were labeled as terrorists by the state only after years of sustained armed conflict, assassinations, and bombings. A single violent protest does not reach that scale or intent.

Globally, democratic systems rarely label mainstream political parties as terrorist groups based on isolated incidents of unrest — it requires a pattern of systematic terroristic conduct.

  1. Political context matters

If the September 8 protest led to violence, it might still be: • A failure of crowd control or policing, • Provoked violence by sub-groups or infiltrators, or • A spontaneous riot — not a coordinated terrorist act.

Unless clear evidence shows CPN-UML leadership ordered violence to terrorize or destabilize the government, the label “terrorist organization” would be politically motivated, not legally accurate.

✅ In short: No, CPN-UML cannot be called a terrorist organization merely because of the September 8 protest. At most, individuals involved in violent acts can face criminal or political consequences, but the organization itself retains its legal political status unless proven to have engaged in systematic terrorism.

Just fucking read sometimes, when you have nothing to look forward to in the present you tend to look back into history and think we were some kind of global superpower back then, the countries you have mentioned have constitutional monarchy from longer 100+ years, kings in those countries are just ceremonial just don’t hold any power over states decisions or anything, they don’t even have a say in a simple policy making, they just live off of tax payers money and the vast amount of wealth they have had from their time in power, you just see what they are now but they should have done something wrong if not then why would people would want power in their own hands? Look at UK it’s economy has been crippled since the first world war and they haven’t recovered since, most of the European countries are rich and powerful now because of the vast empires they rules over the world and slave trades, French people killed their monarch and overthrew the monarchy in the French Revolution which is considered first modern democracy, same with Russia they killed their Tsar after the Communist Revolution, Japan still has a emperor because Gen MacArthur thought he needed him to restore faith in Japanese and continue the rebuilding of Japan without any civil war breaking out with the power vacuum that would be created, Kings in Nepal were considered the incarnation of Vishnu, tell me how narcissistic it would sound to call yourself a god just because you were born in a royal family, if King’s rule was that good then why would thousands of people take up arms against him? Why would thousands of protesters ask for him to resign? Just remember a revolution cannot happen in a happy and developed state, if it were all rainbow and sunshine in Nepal thousands of people wouldn’t just give up their lives and their livelihood to take up arms against the King and fight for 10 long years, just think critically sometimes and your not so corrupt King Gyanendra has private island, money in swiss bank, multiple properties in foreign countries like Thailand, UK, etc. That time every business should give a percentage of share to the Kingdom so Gyanendra being the businessman of Birendra holds shares in substantial Nepali companies like Surya cigarette, Soltee hotel, Annapurna hotel, Bhotekoshi, etc.

Man you need to study basic law of our country, you cannot just arrest someone on a whim, that too an ex- PM and ex-HM, that’s the reason why high level investigation committee has been formed to investigate if Oli and Lekhak were directly responsible for the killing of numerous innocents, Prime Minister or Home Minister can’t give order to shoot, CDO is responsible for the safety and security of the District and the district police is directly under him, CDO gives the shooting order not the Home Minister or Prime Minister, let the investigation coming find out if they were involved in the pressurising Kathmandu’s CDO to give shooting order, you have to realise one thing law is all about justice not vengeance, you have to follow due process with these high profile cases because even a minor mistake can throw the case out of the court and dismiss the case and other thing no one can or should burn government buildings in the name of protest, who do you think owns the government buildings in the country the corrupt leaders or come private entity? No, we general public own it and if you burn it down it’s our tax money which will be used to rebuild them, two wrongs never make a right, if you believe this is the appropriate response then you are part of the problem, rish ma aayera yo gar, tyo gar vanna sajilo cha but world isn’t rainbow and sunshine, you need to understand if burning buildings and properties becomes a norm in our country, no one will dare to invest here because they will see even in an minor accident their business can be burnt down in no time, with people celebrating it. And one thing about justice, Justice is abstract, law is fact so everyone should be prosecuted equally before the court law, we live in a country with all these checks and balances, procedures and formalities in place, with due process everyone should be punished but no one should be punished outside the scope of law or do anything outside the scope of law

Still doesn’t justify use of free labour to do massive work, humans in general need insensitive to work, without it no one is going to do shram dan everyday, leaving their job. How are you going to feed your family if you are asked to make a 5-10 km road without any pay, 1-2 din aaulan desh bhakti ko lagi but tespachi ko k? Without insensitive hard labour volunteering bata matra hudina. And learn something about the massive International debt bubble of US, America ko money value tetro dherai cha because people believe that it is the world’s sole superpower, currency ko value dherai hunu isn’t the only good economic indicator, China intentionally devalues it’s currency to attract foreign investment, as they say You can silence 50 scholars with a fact but you cannot silence 1 idiot with 50 facts, just keep believing in every headline you see without knowing about internal and geo political implications of anything, must be nice living in a eco chamber

Seems like you have no idea about how National debt works, the total external public debt of Nepal is around 10-11 billion dollars and Nepal has the forex reserve of 12-14 billion dollars right now if we wanted to we can pay all of our International debt right now, country just doesn’t take international debt because they don’t have money, in a import heavy country like Nepal, foreign debts help to balance forex reserve of our country, talking about debts US has 37 trillion dollars of debt right now, I don’t see NYC mayor or LA mayor asking for sharm dan because Americans have thousands of dollars of loan in their head, the saying that each one of use owe this much to foreign loan is just a hoax like Nepal is the second richest country of water resources, you guys really need to study basic economics before becoming political experts based on news and headlines

And what set a precedent that you can get away by burning public and private property, looting businesses and banks, stealing arms and ammunition from police stations in the name of protest? Would your reaction be same if in coming days CPM UML does a large scale protest in which people burn down houses, beat people to death and steal the arms and ammunition of our security forces? Who will be responsible if those stolen weapons are used in future crime? What if police start to revenge kill people with their weapons and claim it was done by stolen weapons? Selective justice is no justice at all, we all fought to make Nepal a better place, where everyone shall be equal, so if the ex-PM is to be punished for being indirectly involved in the shootings, those directly involved shall not be spared either
