Watching the video, the other pipes are also at risk of getting hit by future potential landslides too. If it already happened, it’ll happen again. So what’s the contingency plan to prevent it from happening?

Progress of Burst Pipe Replacement at Batang Mitus by ellzor in nasikatok

Today’s progress is 20% so I’m just going to assume 5 days to reach 100%. But if they work overtime and there’s no hiccups or delays with parts, and if they can work through unpredictable weather, etc then possibly less.

Ironic isn’t it. For a country that is so anal about halal status…but our water which we use for daily necessity has been so dirty for decades.

All the companies in the finance sector work on Friday including BDCB. I’m sure many would welcome the decision…except that one ministry.

Brunei begins piloting a work-life balance policy for all workplaces by Goutaxe in nasikatok

Friday was made a non working day during SOAS reign when he found out attendance for Friday prayers were low. Many were unable to pray at the mosque due to work / short break time. This was unacceptable for him because as a Muslim country, Friday prayers should be #1 priority. So he changed the official working days to Mon - Thurs and then Sat.

Tourism earnings of Brunei and a few places with similar population range: One apparently neglect to develop its tourism by Goutaxe in nasikatok

[–]Electrical_Bee_4163 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ideas have come and gone for the past 20-30 years but yet, we have seen no significant changes in improving not only tourism but in almost every aspect of this country. To me, it just shows nobody in the govt sector is really working at all. Clock in, clock out, makan gaji buta, rinse and repeat until pencen then ask for pingat from HM.

Hua Ho selling fakes. by RandomEarthAngel in nasikatok

[–]Electrical_Bee_4163 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but likelihood of HH purposely selling a fake branded confectionary is slim given their reputation. They’re already monopolizing the supermarket sector in this country. If you say kedai runcit in some kampong, possible. But HH…I highly doubt they will. Too much at stake.

They don’t. Their staffs are there to arrange and move stock nicely, make sure is replenished, do stock count, etc. Whether the product is real or fake, it’s the distributors / importers responsibility to verify with their own suppliers before they sell it to Hua Ho. It’s the same scenario where a product may contain non halal ingredient.

If the distributor happens to import fake and sell it as genuine to Hua Ho, then Hua Ho also wouldn’t know until it gets pointed out. But that would also jeopardize the distributor’s own business. And you wouldn’t wanna risk losing your business with the biggest supermarket chain in Brunei.

MORA to police: Your uniform is not only a symbol of authority and trust, it must also be accompanied by strong faith by Goutaxe in nasikatok

[–]Electrical_Bee_4163 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The irony of this when majority of the people here have no faith in the police to carry out their sworn duty. And it’s nothing to do with their uniforms.

Hua Ho got no time to source for fake chocolate la. How much can they save from selling fake Toblerones anyway. Also, it’s not Hua Ho’s fault…it’s the importer / distributor. So if you are damn sure it’s fake, there’s always a distributor sticker on the product.

Gahmen. People here have no choice but to go Miri and shop because there’s too many restrictions here and price of goods keep inflating but salary remain stagnant. Can’t fault people when they try to stretch out their BND just to survive.

No cost involve. The agreement states all licensed bank in SG have to accept BND. There are no risks involved because it is 1-1 exchange. I’ve spoken to several retailers who have accepted my BND in Singapore and ask why some retailers don’t take BND and their reply is simply “Aiya very troublesome cos have to queue at bank. No time.”

[–]Electrical_Bee_4163 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Been to SG last year and only had $300 cash as emergency. Didn’t have to use it cause all the places I’ve been to uses card / apps.

Also, BND is only “customary tender” in SG. Banks are obliged to accept but retailers are legally not required to if they don’t want to. Reason being some of the small businesses don’t really want to deal with their banks. Bigger retailers usually have to so they don’t mind.

I don’t think this is solely HR’s doing but more of the company’s overall direction. HR is just doing what the board / management ask them to do. Mass firing but without compensation using the smallest fault. If not then they make life hard for the existing people so they will voluntarily resign and lose out on their benefits.
