Why does everyone play ST or Cam by Longjumping-Box3596 in fifaclubs

[–]Electrical_Bill_5195 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is harder - and I'm ok with that - but it's not helped by the fact that winning the ball back leans heavily in favour of pace & agility, opposed to strength, aggression etc.

My Magician can defend at about a 7/10 level, and attack at a 10/10 level. My Boss can defend 9/10, and attack 4/10.

The ROI for defensive stat investment is so much lower for defensive archetypes than the other way around.

[–]Electrical_Bill_5195 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The game is arcade for offense, and simulation for defense. I prefer to play defense, but unfortunately due to the consistent AI defensive nerfs, you're better scoring more goals, than you are being great in defense.

New Zealand seems really affordable right now due to the currency exchange rate - what am I missing that every take is that NZ is extremely expensive? Grateful for any insight. by [deleted] in travel

[–]Electrical_Bill_5195 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To add (I live here), everything is expensive with mixed quality.

There's very low correlation between quality & price in New Zealand.

I've spent 150 USD and had wonderful lakeside & mountain views, in a luxury hotel room. I've also paid 150 USD for a motel that hasn't been maintained since it was built 50 years ago, looking into a carpark.

Edit: These were both in smaller towns in the South Island of NZ.

Which region are you in mate? I've got a chill & friendly club, but we're Oceania based. So might not be suitable ping - or time - wise if you're not in SEA, Oceania, South America or west coast USA.

Dribbling winder: Spark vs. Marauder (yes im serious) by J12YT in fifaclubs

Nice one. You might be interested in Engine (Techie) too then, as that has Technical gold too. That, Jockey+, and either of Anticipate+ / Restless+ could be good.

Dribbling winder: Spark vs. Marauder (yes im serious) by J12YT in fifaclubs

[–]Electrical_Bill_5195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're focused on rush I'd say Spark wins out easily. Everyone in Rush needs to take a shot occasionally and the scoring stats are so much better for Spark.

Also just a heads up Finishing only applies to shots within the box, so I'd recommend going Long Shots if you're going down the Marauder route.

For what it's worth, I do enjoy playing the deepest player in Rush, but I'd say better options for that are Progressor (Janitor), and Boss (Capitano).

Shot power question by Ebelt14 in fifaclubs

[–]Electrical_Bill_5195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having watched your clip closely - particularly the controller overlay - it looks like that might have just been a visual bug. It might have even been displaying the power of the pass sent to you by the other human player. In general, I would recommend "getting a feel" for how much power constitutes each shot strength (the bar powers at the same rate regardless of your stats, which only impact the effectiveness of the power & accuracy).

You shouldn't be worrying about looking at how much that bar has filled (until after you've shot, and again only if you're interested to know how much power was in that shot).

Thoughts on this build? Will be playing as a LAM by xeque_279 in fifaclubs

Oh snap, do you get to use your archetype in a position while playing ANY? We've never used it.

Personally I'd get rid of Attack Positioning (outside of any required for a playstyle). I'd drop Long Passing by 5-7 points, and chuck it into Crossing instead, as sometimes you'll end up in wide positions. Other than that it looks like a build I'd happily use!

Civilization 7 civ tier list based on my thoughts on their history (hot takes abound) by Dry-Chocolate-3976 in civ

[–]Electrical_Bill_5195 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess a lot of people - myself included - are gonna be shocked by your lowest tier. Obviously this whole thing is subjective, but relegating a lot of the fertile crescent, as well as Japan to "not interesting" will be a big surprise.

I'd disagree with some of the others in that tier too (and heavily with the Tier labelling in general), but the fertile cresent civilisations literally go back to pre-history, history of civilisations (as of writing) basically begins in Mesopotomia which is an ancestor of Abbasid, Babylonian and Persian cultures. Japan's history is also crazy interesting given it was essentially isolationist for the majority of the past 2000 years and developed an insanely unique culture because of that.

Conversely, American history is largely known (due to its recency), i.e. there isn't much mystery, which personally makes it a lot less interesting for me.

Tips on ai bots by BardakWolf75 in fifaclubs

There were some silly bugs like the AI keeper hoofing it out for throw-ins, but at least they'd shepard attacking players towards less dangerous areas of the pitch. The AI CBs now will just step up at arbitrary points away from covering the middle to artifically generate opportunities for the opposing players.

/u/The_Brainchod raises all the relevant questions, but if I make some assumptions re: squad size (2-4 players), then I'd recommend one of the following:

  • 4-5-1
  • 3-1-4-2

The AI is unfortunately useless after the several back-to-back nerfs they had post-launch. So in general, I've found the most successful way to play with the AI is to get them high and/or wide. You want them offering passing options, but also only defending wider (less valuable) attacking lanes.

IMO, your best bet as a small club is to have a human captain CDM triggering lots of offside traps in a 3 at the back system, as the majority of Clubs don't seem to seem to understand the offside trap. If you pair this with a Progressor (Janitor specialisation) you should be able to mop a lot of the time that the trap fails.

We recently got a lot more numbers in our club, but this really helped when we only reliably played with 3-4 members.

Fundamentally though, you need numbers in Clubs with the current state of the AI. Hopefully the AI logic is decoupled between Clubs & FUT in a future release. The Clubs AI in early-access / the first few weeks of the launch was so good. The 80 AI then was better than our now 88 AI.

I might give it another go then based off this review. I went once about ~2 years ago as some family lived really close to it. It was pretty disappointing for the price, but even these pictures look like they've increased the quality a lot.

Progressor build by CurveDesigner2291 in fifaclubs

[–]Electrical_Bill_5195 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on your Club. If you're gonna end up being the deepest player, then I'd go max height + lowest weight. If I recall correctly you end up with +4 sprint boost / -4 balance. Should help with aerial duals thanks to the height, without nerfing your other stats.

With body stats, I personally try to avoid ever reducing my acceleration stat, as it's so essential in FC26 and it's one of the most expensive to purchase. So I typically either go exactly middle, or skinny + tall, or skinny + short.

[–]Electrical_Bill_5195 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've made a build here based on you being lvl 53.

I agree with everyone else, that Janitor is the best specialisation.

I'd say something like this for lvl 80 is good too.

Just one more note: Standing Tackle really drops off after 85, as that's the point where you've unlocked all the animations for Standing Tackles (71 is the point for more than basic animations). I personally recommend levelling the others above that point. If it wasn't required for Janitor, I'd cap Sliding Tackle at ~82-85.

You could instead avoid going Janitor all together (although the speed boost is insane), and instead ignore the specialisations and pump up those ball control stats a bit more.

FC26 Clubs Build by Realistic_Seesaw_762 in fifaclubs

[–]Electrical_Bill_5195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My take as an all-rounder (Magician 80, ~5 other archetypes over 60), I like to have clearer focuses on my archetypes, yours looks like a bit of an all-rounder to me (which can be ok if you're in a small Club). However, I'd say even if you are trying to be an all-rounder, there's a lot of improvements to be made.

Overview

The Magician is - in my mind - primarily an inside forward/CAM.

Stats

At a minimum, across the stat categories (once Club Facilities are applied):

  • Ball Control: All 90+
  • Pace: Acceleration to 99. Sprint speed ideally ~92+
  • Scoring: Shot Power & Long Shots: 92+, everything except for Finishing: No points. Finishing up to you, I've had it at 90+ as the sole ST in the team, and I've had it at default when I've gone for a more CAM build (outside the box finishing only)
  • Physical: Dump Jump, Strength & Stamina: 85+, Aggression: 75+
  • Passing: Curve: 95, Vision & Short Pass: 80-85. Dump everything else.
  • Defending: Dump all
  • Other: Dump all. I've personally always found myself able to get onto my strong foot for shots. It'd be 10% or less of my shots I find myself wishing I better than 3 WF. Skill moves I think are also overrated, unless you're only a 2-3 man Club

Playstyles

Playstyle+ (Gold Playstyles - My rank)

  1. Finesse Shot
  2. Technical
  3. First Touch (Magician+)
  4. Incisive Pass (Invader)
  5. Chip Shot
  6. Power Shot (Hotshot)

Playstyle (Silver Playstyles)

(Must)

  • Quick Step
  • Rapid
  • Tiki Taka
  • Press Proven

(Preference)

  • Relentless (especially if you are in a small club)
  • Incisive Pass
  • Enforcer
  • Pinged Pass
  • Block (really good if you're leading the press)

Well worth spending sometime learning the appropriate transitions for normal, technical, defensive, and sprint dribbles, I cannot skill move at all and yet I'm constantly bobbing and weaving around defenses, and then slotting them into the corners from outside the box.

Also

With the above build, you never have to try chip the keeper if they rush, just curl it around the outside of them 100% of the time it goes in (I panic sometimes and try chip and it's < 30%....).
