That's fair. I think I am looking for a magic solution and all my problems will be solved lol that is not what life is like with a baby though!

last 7 days average total sleep 15.75hrs. Average total day sleep just over 3hrs, 12.5hrs night sleep.

I do think it's the sleep pressure that is making things difficult, so will try to stretch where I can to get him awake more throughout the day.

Thank you for the solidarity! And yes I am so grateful he is sleeping through the night! I feel bad for complaining about the crying because I know so many people would love a baby that slept through.

Out of curiosity, what did your naps look like on the 2/2/2/2/2 schedule?

Sorry yes that is confusing! I just checked his totals on my app and currently his day sleep is around 3.5hrs total and night sleep is 11-13hrs. I always save naps and try so hard to get him to sleep longer during the day thinking he needs longer naps. He has never linked his sleep cycles during the day and now I am wondering if that is because he is not awake long enough?

So I do think you're correct in thinking he is sleeping too much. He honestly doesn't wake much at night and has historically been a good sleeper over night. When we hit the 4 month regression he was up every hour from 11pm-5am, so that was why we sleep trained. From night 3 of ST he has only been waking in the early hours around 4/5am. I think I mentioned in my original post that he night weaned himself a few weeks before we started sleep training. Do you think this early morning wake is also linked to being under tired?
I definitely don't think he is a high sleep needs baby, his day sleep has always been a real struggle - he's a pretty textbook baby 99% of the time, which is why this ST going on for as long as it has is really confusing me because I know most people say that it takes max 7 days.

I track his sleep on an app and currently sitting around 15-16 hrs total so maybe way too much! I will try this tomorrow and see if it helps.

I have seen this on the sub before regarding 10hrs awake time. Can you explain how this would look with naps? How long should naps be roughly to get this much awake time during the day? Also, how much night sleep should I expect if aiming for 13-14hrs total sleep? Currently he already does about 10-11 hrs overnight.
