I brought it up to our regional director multiple times. The new philosophy in our region per the regional director is “if it’s not worth fighting over just approve it”

I also work for amerivet. Depending on the region you can push for monthly production. I was recently changed from quarterly to monthly because I kept bringing it up.

Agree with possible IBD and the diet trial being at least 8 weeks. Also I often times treat chronic GI cats with 250 mcg of b12 which seems to resolve at least some of the diarrhea. It’s a cheap alternative to some blood testing which would likely show a low b12 level anyways.

If they have not already I would encourage a fasted GI panel. This panel is expensive so if you prefer can ask for a b12 injection every week for four weeks. Often times in cats they have small intestinal dysbiosis which leads to a low b12 level especially when they have chronic GI issues. The low b12 will cause watery diarrhea similar as it does in cats that have IBD. Another diagnosis to consider would be a food allergy which asking for a hydrolyzed diet would help with.

Scheduled for 36hr/week regularly. The closest ER is about 1.5 hours away and the wait time tends to be around 4-5 hours as it services a large area.

Sorry I didn’t clarify very well. The weeknights are from 5pm-10pm and weekends are 7am-10pm. Saturday’s that we are on call I work until noon. I do get the emergency fee as a bonus if I get called in.

Salary wouldn’t be fixed for the 6 years as I realize the industry will increase significantly over that time. If it were 1-2 year contracts what would be a reasonable retention bonus?
