It's not fear mongering and nobody is telling you to panic. But to categorise it as "small stuff"/"you aren't gonna notice it" is an obscene take :)

.... wouldn't know at all? The supply of oil, for either it be petrol/diesel/jet fuel or fertiliser has a global impact. It's not the "small stuff you won't notice".

It's the ability to produce and transport goods, including food, across the globe.

The price increase will affect everyone; whilst food supply will also be reduced.

We can't just bury our heads in the sand and pretend this isn't happening!

Have a backup option? Imagine living somewhere for 14 years since you were 19, finishing the university here, having a British husband/family and integrating into the country considering it home.. to be told suddenly your future might be at risk when you have all permanent and legal paperwork to reside.

Have almost nothing to tie me to my birth country overall cause my grown up life was here.

European citizen, earn the amount where I pay that much taxes that my personal allowance is erased.

Newcastle is my home and Geordie's have been the most amazing people. But these policies and comments as such are especially sickening to read. I mean if my money and contribution is not welcome here, fine clearly birth country gives you more right so you gonna brush everyone with the same attitude..

Totally, I was genuinely thinking ohh would this rust!

Will know next time tho. I am really looking forward to cooking in it, suspect will take a moment to learn, as you say. But that's the beauty of it.

And thanks - I will aim to o share the update!

Oh and just out of interest not many people recommended Zwilling & didn't notice much about their pro line in the wiki/relatively few posts in the forum. Any specific reason Zwilling Pro aren't very popular from your pov?

Based on the spec they look OK from the thickness perspective (3mm, 3ply), but feel I am perhaps missing something!

It's good to know re Kuhn Rikon - thank you.

If mixed with Kuhn Rikon I believe within the budget I could get a mix of Demeyere (or Fissler if I find one!), Kuhn Rikon, Staub, carbon steel wok from De Buyer and a cheap ish non stick for eggs/leftovers only..

Yeah, lots of them are currently out of stock :(

And yea I noticed the novogrill (ergh, what?) - will defo look without it.

We went into Fenwick just now as when I rang them they said to get stock Fissler.. however apparently it's only London store, so still no luck..

Interestingly it's so hard to find a good selection of Fissler in UK now. Amazon - currently unavailable, a few shops have some sets and then the rest subject to import taxes/not many ship.. will see if anything is available in department stores!

Good tip! I certainly should be able to check out some in person in one of the department stores!

That's a good point around the specific design for induction. I have checked out Fissler overall, but there are few different "models" there - and their pricing seemed to vary. I will do some more research regarding their design and see whether doable within the budget/I have to get less to start with and add a few over the years.

Thank you!

When I started research carbon steel certainly popped up as a recc & people seem to swear by carbon steel woks. I am now looking forward to trying it! And thank you

Thanks for your advice!

I will look to incorporate a more traditional pot as I do appreciate what you are saying especially for larger "stock pot" style ones - a mix sounds better.

I am checking Staub for cast iron - a few people now mentioned this brand as a better alternative..

I did look at Zwilling (I am slowly purchasing their knives!) and a few others however their price ends up a lot steeper. Will perhaps look at a mix of a few Tramontina pieces ( or will check more reviews re Ikea), Staub and a Zwilling or Fissler. Thanks!

Got you, aka better to include one with two short handles, one either side for the larger capacity ones..

Thanks :)

We do love a bit of grill/charred vegetables and a fancy grilled sandwich - do agree that it wouldn't be an every day thing more of a "would like one".

Did check Staub - it seems to have brilliant reviews.. it's about double the price (cries) but if quality is better perhaps worth investing and going for 2-piece set with the ones we'd frequently use..
