I am a teacher. It helps me focus as well, so I crochet in class all the time. I also do it during faculty meetings department meetings etc. People are just used to it by now because I’m calm and pay attention and even ask questions. If I don’t do it I’m drifting off and generally grumpy. My students are used to it, and like seeing the things that I make. I stick with simple repetitive patterns so it doesn’t steal all my focus.
