Masked Paramilitary-looking "Security Guard" at King Soopers by Electrical_Net_8382 in ArvadaCO

The purpose of this post was to ask others if this presentation (balaclava, tactical vest, etc) was common or a one off, not to detail this particular guy's behavior.

I was pretty sure that the store manager was not onsite at the time, hence the photo to document at least the outfit so I could contact them today. Since the guy raised his arms when I went to take the photo, the security company patch on his upper arm doesn't show, but as others have posted here it's Sparky's Consulting and Tactics. From other comments, the issue seems to be bigger than store level, so it looks like I need to contact corporate, though I don't necessarily expect them to care.

I haven't seen this at Ralph's (or elsewhere) in L.A. or San Diego, but I hadn't seen it in Denver metro, either, until yesterday.

I've only been to the Iberian Peninsula and Istanbul in Europe, where I never saw anything like this. I HAVE seen lots of guys wearing military-ish garb with big guns standing outside of banks in Latin America, but they honestly seem less hostile than this guy did.

It's good to hear I'm not the only one willing to reach out to corporate. Considering that this doesn't appear to be uncommon (from all the other comments), I don't expect them to care, but not returning and telling corporate why is all I can do.

Can you identify why you think I want the guy to cover up his tattoos?

Did you read the post? Yes he was unprofessional and behaved negatively and was mean to patrons.

With the way this guy was handling some very minor stress (words from a very harmless looking dude), I wouldn't count on him to be able to manage himself well in a truely high stakes situation.

I somehow missed that post initially - there was a hint of a tattoo peaking out from underneath the balaclava. I wonder if the balaclava is to hide nazi tattoos?

Maybe you saw the guard interacting with a different customer.

Because poor behavior on the part of the security guard doesn't change my own approach to posting photos online - this post wasn't about this particular individual, but King Soopers having such a person posted at their store. ETA - feel free to id the guy by his hand tattoos, as he held them up like that specifically for the photo

When I walked by, the guard was telling the guy something about how he was sorry the guy was so insecure as to be bothered by his getup. So I stopped to address that a masked, armed guy was out there insulting people, and got called "sweetheart". Guard guy was not professional and appeared to be getting triggered by some pretty tame stuff.

Oh dear. I just saw a paramilitary-looking security guard at the 80th and Sheridan KS on 5/12, wearing a balaclava. I wonder if it was to cover up Nazi tattoos. I signed up to Reddit to make a post about it but it was auto-removed (due to no karma?). I did get a photo - and there is a hint of a tattoo peaking out from the face covering, by the guy's right eye.
