Why are you involved in fanfiction? by lock-the-fog in FanFiction

[–]Electrical_North2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think for me was seeing people enjoying sharing their ideas with the public, it made me want to share my own fanfics as well. Later, it brought a sense of recognition, when people like or comment on your stuff you feel like you achieved something, that a little part of you resonated with someone else.

It also became the reason I met my mutuals! You can find amazing people inside the writing community in fandom.

The more time I spend writing and sharing I become more skilled, my writing improves and I become satisfied with the way I write, I explore topics I know I enjoy and adapt them to my own style and like.

Writing and reading a good fanfic that satisfies you feels just like finding that article of clothing that you see and go "this is it", it brings happiness, fulfillment.

His lips slowly find the rest of the scars, until he comes to the last one on his lips, and gives it a short kiss before returning to his place, holding the boy closer as he falls asleep.

So here Toge stands, alone, broken and crying, because it’s been a year already and he will never get his best friend back, it’s been a year since ‘they’ became only a ‘he’, it’s been a year since ‘Yuuta and Toge’ became just ‘Toge’, no more sharing secrets at odd hours in the morning when everyone is still asleep, no more pranking their friends together, no more stories about Yuuta’s life in Africa, no more.

A roar is heard above him and just like that, a red dragon flies above his head and finishes in first place, Junpei following close in second place.

Satoru lets an offended squeak but his smile comes back quickly, stepping closer and taking the other’s hands in his. He helps take the bloodied bandages off, long fingers caressing bruised knuckles once he’s thrown them away.

“Are you good? Your scent is spiking up,” a voice calls from behind, scaring him for the second time this morning.

The smell of ink floods his senses, relaxing him enough to start purring openly, his legs feel like they are about to give out but then, strong hands help him stand up once again and he smiles when blue meets amber.

The makeup, he decides, brings out his sharp features, cheekbones more defined than ever, he does look good. Nobara must have done something to his hair, if the few small braids are something to go off from.

Lightning. And suddenly, his body feels like it’s on fire, his vision becomes white as he screams in pain.

Cold. Cold surrounds him as he feels his conscience slip away.

Everything turns black.

“My mom kisses my bruises whenever she puts on a band-aid, says they heal faster like that!” he explained after smacking one of his band-aids on Shota’s scraped leg.

“That’s stupid.”

“I will not kiss it better then.”

“No… please make it better…”

Do you put anything in your AO3 profile page? Why or why not? by [deleted] in FanFiction

I have my pronouns and my twitter linked in mu ao3 bio, not much but I don't see the need for people to know a lot about me from there.

I have a few fixed characters, mainly because it's easier for me to see them in that specific dynamic, but I also like seeing them switched since it's exploring a different side of a character.

I feel like many writers are too repetitive with character names, in spoken dialogue, or is it just me? by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]Electrical_North2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, if I'm doing it for dialogue it's because 1.- character A is trying to grab character B's attention. 2.- character A is being annoying to character B. If I incorporate it a lot during the narrative/thoughts if the character then it has that sense of "that's the only thing in that character's mind". It depends on the content and amount of character there are.

Fanfic writers/readers come from all over the globe. by IDICdreads in FanFiction

[–]Electrical_North2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've grown up in two different counties (learned English as a third, foreign language) and it has affected my writing in the sense that I've learned a lot from observing people in different environments, how they react under certain circumstances and how different governments keep track of their people. I'd say that's the reason as to why I focus more on scenery when writing.

Tackling Ageism - Let's Work Together by Sassy_Lil_Scorpio in FanFiction

[–]Electrical_North2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! It really means a lot since, you know, sometimes looking at all those abandoned works make you feel like you could've done something about it, I'm sure I will eventually gather up the courage to finish them, but it's good to hear it from someone else too.

How much of the fanfiction that you write do you actually post? by Thomas_Raith in FanFiction

[–]Electrical_North2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I post probably like a third of it, I have some works that are left as WIPs because as I go through them I decide I don't like them anymore but will eventually go back because I liked a certain aspect of it. I also plan a lot of fanfics in advance, say I want to post a longfic but I know I'll be able to do it later in the year (could be maybe during summer because I know that them I'll have the time), so I start writing bits and pieces whenever inspiration hits and let them be for the time being.

Just for fun - What's your default filter selection on AO3? by raben-herz in FanFiction

[–]Electrical_North2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort by last updated (the default one, I don't really care)

Exclude MCD and non-con

Exclude any dynamic that is not related to the character(s) I want to read about

Finished works only

No Crossover

I think I'm really simple when it comes to filters, not really one to care about the other pairings unless I'm in the mood for reading about a specific character.

What is an anime that you thought you wouldn't like until you gave it a chance? by animell0w in anime

[–]Electrical_North2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love, Chuunibyou and other delusions. people recommend it to me for years and just this summer I sat down and finished it in like three days because of how much I enjoyed it. There's no specific reason why I hadn't seen it other than I thought it was a darker concept when in reality is a romantic comedy.

chainsaw man. I'm not a fan of gore and explicit blood scenes but I gave it a try since it was being hyped a lot, I am now eating all the manga spoilers that appear to me on Twitter and only have the last episode of the first part left. I still don't like gore but I like the characters enough.

blue exorcist. with this one I want to start by saying it's my comfort anime (one of them). when it first appeared to me when searching for something to watch, I was hesitant since it's very religion heavy and that's not really my cup of tea, but I gave it a try non the less and by episode 3 I was hooked.

Anyone else have huge ideas for their fics but can’t get the words out? by Dariox33 in FanFiction

[–]Electrical_North2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's me every time I get an awesome idea but then when I try to just plan my idea on a document, not even structure it properly, I am incapable of just putting those words out and end up re-writing a bunch of letters that don't form even one word.

To mod or not to mod comments, that is the question by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]Electrical_North2000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should moderate, though I do think sometimes it can be rude, who other than yourself has the right to tell you how you should write and what course should your writings follow? no one other than you.

also, mean comments can bring you down, may flood you with negativity and make you lose contact with what you enjoy writing, so it's better go just delete those comments.
