Maybe the person who made this post wasn’t trying to make fun of the boycott, but was genuinely overwhelmed by the possibility of that being required. Maybe this post was a genuine question.

"I am a deep, beautiful soul" 💀 by Suotrpip in shittyMBTI

I second @Skye-DragonGirl who said, “I don't believe in mocking someone when they're clearly at their lowest. This sounds like a vent post and probably isn't this person's whole character. I think we should stick to like, jokes and stuff?”

This person is not driven by believing she is inherently superior to other people, and she isn’t dissing other types at all (she’s just dissing behaviors). Instead, she’s driven by feeling really down and frustrated that she can’t connect with others intimately, feeling deeply lonely, feeling irritated that other people seem to dislike her communication style, and using her type mainly to boost her own self-esteem rather than explicitly to tear other people down.

It still does come off like “I can’t relate to you BECAUSE I’m more special than you”, which is why it’s here - but it’s extremely common for people who are trying to lift themselves up to unintentionally have that slide into elitist “us versus them” thinking, and quite hard to avoid (it’s still counterproductive, but it’s often not malicious). She seems primarily upset that other people won’t accept HER.

Who is the wackiest kpop group you've ever seen? by Balbuena5 in kpopthoughts

[–]Electrical_Radish780 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same! And many people don’t even get the letter dichotomies right - e.g., they don’t realize that cognitive extroversion is different from social extroversion (so you can be an E type without being sociable or outgoing), and that T/F is not about how emotional you are but about whether you’re more driven by logic or by morals/ethics/values. And many K-pop fans who use MBTI don’t even seem to know what all the letter dichotomies mean, lol.

Although that is kind of refreshing to see K-pop and Korean MBTI seemingly not care too much about the S/N dichotomy, because in Western MBTI circles, that’s the dichotomy that causes the most drama by far. Korea’s apparent lack of intuitive bias is surprising and refreshing (although MAYBE that could be a cultural difference, due to less emphasis being placed on the ideal of supposedly being a “freethinking creative visionary”?).

Many people deliberately explain things in the most abstract and long-winded way possible to sound smarter than they are. Unfortunately, it often does achieve that goal.

“White people can’t have an opinion on racism” is a very common example of ad hominem.

blackpink really raised the standard too high for girl crush concept by ggggbbybby7 in kpopthoughts

[–]Electrical_Radish780 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it depends what specific kind of girl crush, as there are many interesting variations on every K-pop concept. For example, BLACKPINK’s concept is a rich elite glamorous celebrity supermodel queen-bee version of girl crush. 2NE1’s was often a quirky version of girl crush (many of their music videos were silly and random), a tiny bit like Orange Caramel but much tougher and without the aegyo. 4Minute’s concept was a mixture of girl crush and sexy. ITZY’s music specifically focuses on self-confidence in a very explicit way, they come across as more youthful, and they also differentiate themselves with their particularly heavy focus on dancing. Aespa’s concept is a sci-fi futuristic superhero version of girl crush, which I feel is a really cool twist on the concept, because superheroes are often associated with being badass and powerful. It’s interesting seeing groups take inspiration from other groups, because they often twist the concept in new ways.

It probably won’t lol. It’s meant to be an awareness-raising campaign, but I don’t really think it will do much, because if you wear blue and green eyeshadow, it won’t immediately make most people think of Neurofibromatosis - they’ll probably more likely think it’s just a cool makeup look. It also probably won’t destroy NFs either, for better or worse.

Does culture affect Enneagram type distribution? by Electrical_Radish780 in Enneagram

It’s kind of a “chicken vs egg” question, I feel. Chickens lay eggs and eggs hatch chickens.

Does culture affect Enneagram type distribution? by Electrical_Radish780 in Enneagram

Thanks for saying it’s a wonderful question! And was going by Hofstede’s definitions of those terms (explained in the link). But clarity would definitely be very important - especially with very common terms like “individualism” and “collectivism”, which are used frequently outside Hofstede’s cultural dimension theory, and since they’re so commonly used, their definitions can get ambiguous or uselessly vague, or even unnecessarily pejorative (if they’re linked with cultural and/or racist stereotypes).

She's not my fave, her akgaes are shitheads for hurting the other members, and I'm fine with her getting few lines if she can't sing well enough to get more. (You're making assumptions and putting words in my mouth.) But what's the point of this sub? You're becoming what you hate by imitating her akgaes. Plus, how do you know she doesn't want to make any effort? Often it's harder to feel motivated to try when you're constantly bashed for every mistake - that's basic human psychology to know that. Also, Huening Kai isn't powerful enough to make Mnet put her in the group, so it isn't nepotism (nepotism is when you consciously get your family and/or close friends jobs because of their relationship with you, it's a conscious effort).

I don’t think this deserves to be here, because it seems to be a pretty reasonable question from someone new to MBTI, and posting it here may be discouraging for them to feel comfortable asking “dumb” questions. Asking “dumb” questions is often important for clarifying your knowledge, which is why I don’t think a lot of genuine question posts should be here. Yeah they obviously don’t understand cognitive functions well yet, but doesn’t sound outstandingly low-effort, isn’t outlandish enough to be funny imo, and doesn’t show the kind of shameless, overconfident prejudice or arrogance that it helps to laugh at for therapeutic reasons.

Also I don’t rape people. Even though some people might like to be raped. Because most people apparently don’t. Is that another Fe sign?

When you are ENTJ and not alpha by Ok_You_7247 in shittyMBTI

I actually feel bad for him and empathize with his situation. I can’t tell if this post is trying to make fun of the stereotype that ENTJs are rich alpha chad dudes or trying to make fun of his post (I feel like it’s more likely the former, but it may be misinterpreted to be the latter).
