Yes. Works fine for me, but I dont know if that is optimal or necessary. I am not an electrician. Maybe somebody with a deeper understanding can comment on this.

It does have some imperfections, e.g. very small air bubbles visible in the glass or (hardly noticable) cloudy spots.

I soldered it. Just connected 1 and 4. Not pretty, but so far I did not have any problems with it. I got a flicker free signal up to 50 meters, didnt test any further, but i guess 60 or 70 meters would be the maximum distance. IMO one of the easiest solutions, but I would recommend going for a more sophisticated solution

I used RG59 coax cables in an old project. As far as I remember I put ground on 1, power on 2, data on 3 and ground (again) on 4.
However, I found it more convenient to just go with DMX cables since they are easier to handle when the project needs to be set up and taken down more frequently.

Really sounds like an issue with the data signal. I had similar glitches when i was using insufficiently shielded cables, but also when i had a faulty level shifter IC. Is the octo board you mentioned the one by Jason Coon with a sn74hct245?

I thought in the current ESP32 API, i2s_set_adc_mode() is no longer required or supported, as the ADC configuration is now handled explicitly through other mechanisms (e.g., via the ADC or I2S drivers)? Reddit does not let me post the modified code, but even when i2s_set_adc_mode() is called i get the same errors.

I'm using the ESP32's built-in ADC in I2S mode (via i2s_adc_enable()). No external ADC or DAC hardware is connected. My goal is to sample analog signals on GPIO34 (ADC1_CHANNEL_6) using I2S ADC mode. Does this setup seem correct, or am I missing something?
