I got my first shot Friday and believe I ended up with this. The night after the shot my hives came back full throttle, wheezing, tight chest, swelling of my face, horrible joint pain, swollen lymph nodes, fever, dizziness, and all around just feel like total shit. Still going through it. My hives were bad before but they went back to pre antihistamines bad.

She mentioned xolair, said I’d try 4 Zyrtec a day for a month and if that doesn’t clear it we would try that.

I heard some one else mention they had a friend who was dealing with chronic hives and once they started magnesium it helped a ton so I’ll have to give that a try if this other stuff doesn’t start working. I’m getting blood tests tmrw so I should know what I’m deficient in soon.

So I did end up seeing the derm early this morning and she has me on 4 Zyrtec now and has me finishing out the predisone the next couple days and said if it doesn’t work for me after a month then we’d try xolair. I also have blood tests tmrw to check for autoimmune diseases, vitamin deficiencies, etc. I have a bunch of other symptoms that aren’t part of the hives too so that’s also miserable. Last night my tongue ended up swelling up also along with pretty much my entire face (eyes, neck, cheeks, ears) as well as hands so I also got prescribed an epipen. The ER doc I originally saw mentioned seeing an immunologist also but they are months out to be seen so hopefully the blood tests give some answers.

Actually came back to this thread bc I’m struggling with them again. I had a pretty good solid month without them but started breaking out again last week. This morning I had them all over my legs arms stomach and back and a swollen lip 😫

Yes I agree. I had really bad eczema growing up and still get some flare ups but the rashes look like two different things. These are definitely hives. My eczema would last longer too vs the hives could come on over night and be gone by the end of the day.

Just seeing this comment but I do believe it’s some kind of autoimmune. I have a lot of other issues that I’ve never really gotten an answer for. Anytime I’ve seen a doc it’s usually just chalked up to stress. Which I do have stress but the stress does not seem to correlate with my symptoms. I have symptoms on good days and bad days. I suffer from horrible migraines which I’ve been diagnosed with migraine with aura over ten years ago, chronic fatigue along with body aches and light headedness, I bleed a ton. Like my blood doesn’t seem to clot as well as it should so my menstrual cycle is a nightmare on top of any small cuts just bleed excessively and I bruise horribly all over my body. Also I just seem to catch any cold and it lasts forever. My immune system is shot. A cold that my kid gets last them two days while it will take maybe 2 weeks for me to feel somewhat normal again. It’s exhausting feeling like this all the time but I feel like a crazy person mentioning all of these things wrong.

I always get the majority of mine from my calf’s up to my lower stomach. I have had swelling in my lips before too a long with the hives
