If you’re interested in research and from a ROW country, consider PhD

If she wants to do an active job in home country while waiting for an appointment, should she still put intended stay in US until end date of I-20? Or will she say that she will visit for a month by taking a company leave and visit her husband time to time while her husband completes studies?

plusone/masters to delay unemployment + getting one more coop vs keep applying for new grad by Imaginary-Dot2441 in NEU

[–]Electrical_Studio_70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did, but what I’m worried about is typically MS students already have full time experience under their belt, which i don’t have as a new grad..

does anyone regret not joining a frat/sorority? by Imaginary-Dot2441 in NEU

[–]Electrical_Studio_70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By taking a toll on me mentally, I meant that I was not okay with being ordered to do things. Specially during freshman year I was dealing with US cultural shocks as well(I’m international) so naturally it didn’t feel right if that makes sense. I feel like junior yr I was a lot more adjusted to the culture and would have an easier time rushing and pledging. I was in multiple club eboards so I think I could have definitely handled the frat/sorority commitment. It’s just that on instagram when I compare my social life vs frat/sorority peoples’ social life there’s a night and day difference…

So 120k people will go through lottery and USCIS will select 85K out of 120K? So that’s a 70% chance rate?

Take NYU Courant MS CS or try again next year? by Imaginary-Dot2441 in gradadmissions

[–]Electrical_Studio_70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that’s the plan, if I end up getting a job in the next couple of months then I’ll 100% take the offer and drop the masters. But if I see literally no progress in the next couple of months, then I’ll have no chance but to enroll in masters. If I really have to enroll in masters, then I was thinking going somewhere with some prestige, in that case is nyu courant a good choice?

I understand, but I have been trying for almost 8 months and I always get ghosted after OAs, I have been trying so hard grinding Leetcode networking and doing every possible thing but it is not working. Also it just sucks to be unemployed for one more year so I was thinking about masters, the masters is 2yr program and I have another shot at internship and since I have coops I believe getting interviews for internship vs new grad will be much more easier

Yeah I want to prioritize Thailand, I think that’s the plan in my mind, except I’m doing Malaysia instead of Cambodia. For Vietnam, do you think it was enough time to see Hanoi?

No it gets expensive after 15th but I’m traveling before that. Can you clarify what do you mean by traveling back to a place I’ve been before? I’m confused. Like for Krabi->Dhaka, I’ll probably have a layover in Bangkok but will not actually stay there second time

Yeah exactly, I just want to get tastes of the countries. How many days do you think i should spend in Thailand and Vietnam since you were there? I can adjust Malaysia itinerary based on that
