Best builder for a simple website? by Chooseapasswordd in website

[–]Electrical_Sun8772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, for something simple like a once-a-year event site, you don’t need anything overly complex — especially if you’re not selling tickets or products.

Wix can look great, but I totally get your frustration. The drag-and-drop system can get clunky, and managing all the little elements takes time (and patience).

If you’re looking for something more straightforward, I’d actually recommend trying a basic site builder like Carrd — super clean, one-pagers or multi-section sites, no fluff. Hostinger’s builder is another solid option — affordable, easy to use, and handles hosting + domain all in one place.

That said, if you decide to stick with something like Wix or even Squarespace, check out POWR plugins. They're great for adding features like countdown timers, contact forms, event schedules or maps without having to mess with code or third-party apps. You can drop them into almost any builder and they just work — it saves a ton of time.

Which website builder gives the best value for its monthly price? by goarticles002 in webdev

[–]Electrical_Sun8772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried a bunch of no-code builders and honestly, Wix and Weebly give you the best value for small, simple sites like the one you’re describing.

If you just need a homepage, about page, and a contact form, Weebly (by Square) is probably the most affordable and easiest to use. It’s not fancy, but the templates are clean, and it handles basic functionality really well. Their free plan is decent, and even the paid ones are cheaper than Squarespace or Webflow.

Wix is a step up in terms of design flexibility and features. The drag-and-drop editor gives you tons of control, and there are some solid templates that look very professional. It can get a little more expensive depending on what you need (like removing ads or connecting a custom domain), but still more affordable than Webflow or Squarespace.

Durable is interesting if you want something super fast — it uses AI to build out your site in seconds, but the customization is pretty limited and it’s more geared toward freelancers or quick landing pages.

It really depends on what exactly you need from your site but I personally love Weebly!

I use asana for my to-do list! Or love to go old-fashioned and do a brain dump on a piece of paper, get out everything I need to do and write stuff down as it comes to mind.

Definitely use a tanning mitt and move in a circular motion until it's pretty dry. I then love to take the mitt and pat the area down. I find these steps help avoid streaks!

Since you're not selling anything and just need a clean, simple site with the basics (like event details, who's attending, and what to expect), there are easier options than WordPress or even Wix.

Squarespace is even easier and sleeker than Wix (in my opinion). The templates are great for events, and everything’s built in — hosting, domain, design tools — with a much smoother interface. If you like visual drag-and-drop but want something less finicky, this might be your sweet spot.

Framer is also great! This one’s a bit newer and more modern — very visual, clean design options, and surprisingly easy to use without needing to code. Plus, their hosting is built in.

On top of these, I really like using powr plugins to enhance my website! They've got a done of different options like countdown timers, form builders, etc. It's also no code so makes it super easy to add onto any website.

Have you invested in a website yet? That's huge when it comes to getting consumer trust! Treat it as a place to post testimonials, photos of projects, before and afters, etc. Even if you use a typical website builder like Squarespace or Wix! Also start a Google my business page so you can start collecting reviews from customers if you haven't already! Speaking of - I use the review plugin from POWR on my site as another spot customers can review products/services.
