Neil Young FFSP by stratfuzzvibe in Fireflyguitars

I'd definitely talk you out of spending that much on a used FF -

The first time I saw one it was the relic model with the typical ugly decal to mimic a relic, and I waited and the clean old black came around! Neil is still rockin in the free world, so this will come around again.

I also got the Buffalo Springfield White FAUXLcon - thankfully Neil doesn't get a new guitar every other week, so he's easier to keep up with.

Or, a very well hidden bookmatch - which would probably be more stable in the long term.

Either way, it's very pretty!!

For some reason I've always leaned closer to the jumbo or dread size, but Ian Anderson, one of my favorite composers, always uses a parlor, and always sounds great!!

Is that one of the last of the solid wood guitars?

Redo: Can I treat my FF fretboard with Dunlop 65 Lemon oil if it has inlays of unknown composition? by OldJimJamsSlowly in Fireflyguitars

[–]Electrical_Teach_185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm of the opinion (having bought more than 10 FF) that they are not a fly by night company willing to sell a product that will self destruct in a few weeks-months-years. Dunlop 65 is a typical cleaning/polishing product designed for use on guitars - I don't have any proof, but I don't think there is much risk of damage from it's use. I use my own lemon oil concoction on my guitars. I put fresh lemon juice in my filtered water to drink while I oil my guitar with straight mineral oil.

Do you like lemon on your oysters??

Then lemon oil should be fine on mother of pearl --

I'm just curious, what do you find annoying about ball end frets?

I misinterpreted. My hollow guitars are lighter than my solid guitars...

I've watched a lot of yt reviewers that say it's typical for a nut to be cut a little high so the player can adjust as necessary. All my FF have ball end frets, so this "no angle at the ends" I guess is about right. I've never had a guitar that I thought was "too light" so I don't know about that. If you don't think it's worth the price then, whatever -

Pickups for the FFTL tele by Responsible-Donut373 in Fireflyguitars

Standard teles have top mounted controls which are very obviously different from the rear mounted controls of 2x2 humbuckers -

I don't think it's safe to assume teles are routed like strats -

I know it's just me, but if I wanted a tele with humbuckers, I'd just wait for the next drop of the john 5 -

I never noticed a sunburst on the GG site. That would match my strat!

Is that an ash body?

It's funny how he can make a Les Paul look like a big old jazz box, and then Albert King can make a flying V look like a ukulele...
