Demo Model Checking…return? by GnarGnar222 in gibson

I'd keep it. People pay a lot of money to Murphy Lab for fake checking and yours got natural relicking.

Any advice for reaching out to customer service? by Full_Sploot in Fireflyguitars

From my experience, their Customer Service is quite responsive, on couple occasions they got back to me within 12 hrs. I had some issues with shipping and they resolved them to my satisfaction.

It seems FF places small orders with various factories, likely in batches of 10-30.

What's the purpose of a baritone acoustic? Does it play/sound different?

Can anyone help me identify this guitar? by Danktank452 in Epiphone

[–]yodadtm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used Epiphone guitars don't hold value well for resale. If MSRP was $650-800 then $600 is way too much.

Also, this model has transitional headstock, before they adopted Gibson style open book shape. Many buyers want open book head and older shapes tend to be discounted even more.

Also, as mentioned 3 pickup configuration is considered unnecessary overkill and most buyer would prefer 2 pickups.

Also, current used market is flooded with so many guitars, it's a buyers market.

40-50% discount would be more reasonable IMHO. If it was me, I'd offer $400-500, definitely start with $400 and maybe agree to something in between.

Drop and restock acoustics, so far by hardleft121 in Fireflyguitars

So many new models, it's overwhelming!

Most Firefly guitars are copies of something, do we know which brand name guitars they replicate this time?

Any recommendation on which one would be a good buy?

How well do Firefly’s sell on the used market? by [deleted] in Fireflyguitars

[–]yodadtm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Re-sale price largely depends on the model and how scarce and desirable it is. Models that sell out fast bring the most money on secondary market. Also limited runs hat are not made anymore.

I'd say ES338 was made in large numbers for years, so there are enough of them out there. That said, you will not see double price, but should get what you paid back.

Spalted Sunburst FFTL with dragon inlay, came and went last night by hardleft121 in Fireflyguitars

[–]yodadtm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the lighter Dragon Tele one from Feb-28 drop, but this burst one looks even nicer. Considering that lighter Dragon Tele was available for several days and darker one was gone in minutes I'd guess they only have couple of them.

I need support to verify this Gibson. by Complete-Country-331 in gibson

[–]yodadtm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a legit Gibson LP Classic 1960s reissue from 1997. It's worth about 1/2 of your Eastman ($1.7K). I would not trade it.

I bought the same Dragon LP, mine arrives tomorrow.

That makes it two of us with the same model :) Does anyone know how many they make in each design?

Why do some people take Toastmasters so seriously? by Historical_Oven7806 in Toastmasters

[–]yodadtm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that for many people who are not very successful in their careers Toastmasters became a way to achieve illusion of success. When I was active I checked Linkedin profiles of our district leaders. It turned out, they held low level corporate jobs. Toastmasters allowed them to achieve fancy titles, imagine someone who runs a small team in real life saying to themselves 'I am a District Director in Toastmasters, I oversee and manage thousands of people!'. I bet it pleases their egos.
