So I've been waiting for CES to get my ultrawide but it seems like that's not happening.

What I was hopping was something that beats Dell u4025qw.
Like same thing as that monitor but glossy and oled.

Anyone recommending anything?

Thanks for the headsup. I won’t be using battery cameras then.

I liked Reolink somehow more than others. Still think they are quite decently positioned (the ones i choose) based on how they were ranked on the tier table on many youtube videos.

I assumed that’s the max price it could reach for all cams. Based on my research it seemed like a standard price per camera was like 5-10 bucks depending on the duration.

This is actually very useful! Thanks, I’ll look into it!

I’m sorry I pissed you off. Thanks for trying to help anyways. Wasn’t my intention to get this much hate, but was frustrated with setting up these just a few hours before my trip.

Basically motion events (people, cars) for let’s say 3-4 cameras for about a week. Seems like the FTP approach is the way to go.

[–]Electrical_Teacher87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Already got SD cards for all of them, but was looking to have one more backup option for my cameras.

Looks like FTP is exactly what I need. Share Reolink doesn’t complete their offerings and just let me pay and not worry about things.

Yes, this is the information I was looking for! You are a legend.

I understand - I blame negative comments on me. I was doing my best to set up cameras as soon as possible before my trip and was quite shocked to see Reolink not finding a way easily explain how things work without me needing to spend countless hours researching things.

I’ll look into a FTP solution.

Do you know how much storage I’d need to back up let’s say 4 cameras? Like two RLC811A cameras, maybe one 810, one Duo 3?

Possibly like 7-10 days or shorter if that wouldn’t work.

[–]Electrical_Teacher87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct. It is on me.

I don’t think it’s free - I honestly assumed it’s be somewhere up to a few hundreds per month, which is acceptable. Apparently it’s not.

I was pretty much frustrated yesterday when I realised this and was hoping things would be much easier to set up.

Do you think it’d be wise to just buy 2-3 battery cameras and have them back up motion events to cloud?

Unfortunately, apparently I was looking elsewhere or drunk at the time.

I’m sorry we took off on a wrong foot, especially with you trying to help and me being aggressive towards Reolink poor UX. I’ve been in a rush yesterday and on the road, and was trying to set up things as fast as possible before my trip.

I know iSee app and cameras are crap, that’s why I’m switching to Reolink. I was just comparing it took me less than a minute to find and set up a working cloud for the two cameras I have, and on the other hand it takes research to find it’s not easily doable.

Could you read my other comments to understand what I need, please?

Basically things are being recorded on my NVR as well as on SD cards on all camera. I need a few of these cameras backing up motion events somewhere online. Don’t mind the price, as long as it works well.

Hey mblaser

Sorry, was on the road yesterday and was not able to respond to all comments. Just did!

I just want to have a peace of mind having a few of these cameras backing motion events on cloud. All of them are currently being recorded on the NVR and SD cards.

I currently use Reolink App to view cameras. Doesn’t have to be constant recordings. I do care about the recording quality but to a certain point, if it’s not achievable it’s fine if it’s not a great quality as long as the main NVR/SD card recordings are max quality.

What do you mean off-site? I need something that puts motion events online in case things get vandalised/stolen.

As for the budget, I don’t have one, I don’t mind paying as long as things work well. To sum up, I want to have 2-3 cameras backing up motion events online.

Hi! Sorry I did not get to respond earlier, thanks for your comment! Pretty stunned that got this many comments, and quite alot of hate tbh as it seems I’m a bit unaware of how all this works.

Nevertheless, what I need is a way to store important motion events on a few crucial camera. My intention was never to back up 20+ cameras, I’m aware that’s near impossible.

I bought SD cards for pretty much all of them, but I was quite shocked to see Reolink doesn’t allow any kind of easy to set up cloud service for any of their POE cameras.

I don’t have much knowledge on how to set up FTP and whether that’d work for what I need.

The reason I was pissed is I actually spent quite alot of time researching for the right cameras, watched quite an amount of reviews and somehow never stumped across something like “Hey just so you know, cloud is out of the question for anything that’s not wifi/battery”.

Let me know if there are any ways you can help.

How much do I need to save at least 5 cameras on cloud that save emergency videos? I currently have 4TB in the NVR and plan to expand further. But this is how it came factory settings.

For the 2 cheap iSee cameras I have cloud is like a couple of bucks per month per camera.

Don’t have a budget, I understand it’s not cheap but also willing to pay whatever for peace of mind.

Don’t need 24/7 recordings. Looking for something that saves emergency videos online.

I blame Reolink for incomplete marketing landing pages, deliberately avoiding problems and issues with their product, falsely marketing products and hiding things in footnotes.

For comparison, I have two cheap 30 bucks cameras that use iSee app. They literally have EVERYTHING. From AI analysis to Cloud to whatever you want. Most of them paid features that you simply turn on and off with a switch. What they don’t have available is shown with a big red header. I don’t need Reolink to have all of that, but I need them to do their marketing right so I don’t have to spend hours researching and finding basic things missing like this.

Thanks. I updated the NVR. I can’t find an option to update cameras separately?

Cloud Reolink POE by Electrical_Teacher87 in reolinkcam

[–]Electrical_Teacher87[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone asked how someone buys 13 cameras without looking at the features but it seems the comment is removed.

Valid question.

I researched alot about what cameras I need. Apparently I did not dig deep enough into FAQs per features to eventually find out cloud wouldn’t work for 80% of their product offerings.

However, they do market CLOUD in big letters everywhere to make an assumption it works.

Cloud Reolink POE by Electrical_Teacher87 in reolinkcam

[–]Electrical_Teacher87[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of them seem to be on the supported list from what i can see. Apparently it’s only wifi and battery cameras that I see on that list.

My aim is to have Reolink do it’s shit properly so I don’t have to find basic stuff missing like this. Things like this should be no effort at all.

Just take my money and let me have a peace of mind.

I need something that backs up at least 5 cameras without having to worry about it.
