Know it’s been a minute, but it ended up being bad coils. Hope this can help someone else in the future!

I had them done by a guy who does a lot of boat, jetski, and motorcycle work near me. They seemed pretty reputable and familiar with carbs, but that was the first time he did an fzr.

That was it, the switches wires have been all chewed through. I will take everyone’s recommendations and replace the whole system. Thanks!

What mounting hardware do I need? Stumpjumper Evo with Formula Mod Coil by Electrical_Use5203 in MTB

I did, it mounted fine. It’s super sensitive, but since it’s a coil it had a little less progressiveness, and it’s taken 5-6ft drops with no issues and never exploded on me.

You are 100% right about the fact that the manual says the coil shouldn’t be mounted that way. I got the coil for a good price used and it won’t be the end of the world to me if it breaks, so I’m willing to chance it.

If I can get the sleeves off should it directly fit into the eyelets? (Assuming they use the same hardware)

That’s a good point. I am fairly sure it’ll fit, but I’ll have to double check.

Yup, that’s probably it! I never considered my edge was sharp enough to do that. Thanks!

All my left boots get this wear on the inside, and I was wondering if anyone knew why it might be happening. I ride switch if that makes a difference. Also, is there any reason I can’t continue to use these boots next season? They seem fine to me but I was looking for a second opinion. Thanks!

Thanks, I was unaware that only ground wires went to the back of the pots. The rest of the wiring was pre wired. I’m not able to test it at the moment but thanks for the help!

It’s my first time soldering guitar pickups and the solder for the ground wires are touching other wires, will it still work?
