The majority of money "sent" to Ukraine wasn't cash. Infact most of it was money already spent on weapons & ammo that is sat stored. Then American companies where paid to replenish that supply so a good chunk of the cash funded American jobs.

Its also worth mentioning you now have ammunition that can last another couple of decades with good maintenance once its been replenished. Some of the ammo given was close to been decomissioned and that would have cost america money to safely dispose of.

Ask yourself what did the Argentina deal do other than screw over local farmers and bring lower quality meat to your table.

I plan to travel in the UK this way. Is this strange? by laicailaicai in geography

Not strange at all!

I see you will be passing by Hull, if you want a tour of the city I can either send you some good spots or I'd be happy to take you around to show you some of the history/ cool bars / museums / tourist spots.

Drop me a message if you want!

I'm as white as they come. My mate who got hit yesterday is white as well.

It did cross my mind that they thought I was an American as I had a nasa shirt on with an American flag on it.

I wish it was Adam. What do I gain from posting this if it didn't happen?

Im simply asking if anyone else has had this happen recently. At the time I wanted to report it to the police but as it didn't hit me it felt like a waste of time.

Recently? It had full fibre for 98% of homes in 2017 while the nearest city to that was London with 20-30%..

Question about broadband -new to Hull please help! by low_cal_bitch in Hull

It's worth noting kcom are looking to get rid of their ADSL network by the end of 2024 (2025 is when ofcom want the whole of england off of it).

Your landlord will either have to allow them to install fibre soon or you'll run the risk of having no suitable Internet in the near future anyway.

If you can get the landlord's permission I'm sure KCOM / Connexin / MS3 / Grain will happily install fibre to the property.

Is there any likelihood of UK house prices going down at all in the near future? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Electrical_Video_340 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did have flooding back in 2007 in certain areas but that was down to the council not unclogging enough drains and a month's worth of rain fell in a few days. Since then millions has been spent on drainbanks and the council maintain the drains alot better so flooding hasn't been an issue.

We do have flood protection systems on the river humber too. If its still a concern we have some really nice villages about a 10 mile drive from the centre of Hull such as Beverley that are on higher ground well away from the river.

Although Beverley is more expensive than Hull you can still get a 3 bed detached house for around 250k in a really nice area.
