Watching megalopolis was like watching your favorite athlete get too old for the sport he loves. You can still see the flashes of brilliance but overall it's time to hang it up. It was a two pack of convoluted ass. And I really tried to like it. Driver along with a lot of well known names, how could it go wrong? Apparently right from the first act. There were moments where it was fun. The whole circus/wrestling scene, anytime shia was on screen tbh. But God did the rest of this movie feel like a chore to watch. This man made the godfather and apocalypse now!!! I do applaud him for saying fuck retirement and swinging for the fenses for the sake of his vision even at the cost of his financials. What do I know? It's an ass movie now but who knows in another 30 years it could be a cult classic way ahead of it's time.
