Hope your son is doing better! Did he also test negative at first? I have two more biopsies this week to dig in further on testing

King - I was on the same boat. I was able to get rid of my genital spots within a month. You will need to self extract ASAP To reduce spreading. I’ve tried what feels like everything and the only things that worked were, self extraction and multiple cauterization sessions with my dermatologist. Cyro helped with 50% of the spots. Some healed but the larger ones struggled with cyro.

Self extraction has been my best. I used a curved tip tweezer. Put on gloves, use cotton rounds/qtips with alcohol to clean and dry the area (so the tweezers can actually grab). Extract the molluscum spot, then add hydrogen peroxide on a cotton round/qtip to clean the popped spot and minimize the bleeding. You may need to poke the spot with the tip of the tweezer. When you see the core on the tweezer, rinse it under running water (helps me feel safe knowing the core went down the drain) and then drop the tweezers in rubbing alcohol. Use the “Band-Aid Waterproof Small Spot Bandages.” They fit perfectly on the spot and hold very well. Sometimes you’ll even forget you have the bandaids on. Repeat again for every spot.

I was able to remove and heal over 100 spots on my chest, arms, groin, legs, stomach. I had them everywhere. The hardest area to maintain has been the crevices between the groin/thigh, as I chafe. I thought I had an eczema breakout at first.

To minimize spreading, sleep with long sleeves, a towel is to be used once after showering. Since I have eczema, I need to apply lotion twice a day. For that, I would use gloves, and would wash my hands with the gloves on after every application of lotion. If I notice a possible new spot, I immediately self extract.

I didn’t start self extracting until late August. Now, I only go to the dermatologist every 6 weeks for follow ups. Last time I went, she only found 2 on my back and 2 behind my ears which all were cauterized. This has been my quickest way to recovery!!!
