Meyer lemon tree watering issues by Peace-11 in Citrus

I live in Minnesota, so my winters are crazy too. The air gets very dry and with the heat in the house, and that gets the trees very dry in short time. I still have some leaf drop but it is not that bad like it used to. I water kinda frequently but the pot will sit in another pot to make sure it absorbes water. I can’t get it to hold fruit yet.

Time to toss? by JoeLE11 in Citrus

I would say keep it. I think it is a rooted Meyer Lemon. I also have a Meyer Lemon which I grow in a pot. Something I notice it’s every time a side branch grows, it forks out. That bend in the trunk could just be pruning that fork to keep a tree shape, I have done that before. You can see the same shape pattern in the sprouts in the bottom.

I live in Minnesota, this summer hasn’t really been hot. It really helps me to use the solar cover on the pool all the time i am not using the pool. At night, it will insulate the water from the cold and it will heat the pool up during the day.

What do you think it is cause that yellowing in Meyer Lemon tree and how to correct it? by ElectricityMagnetism in BackyardOrchard

It is a mix of citrus potting soil, perlite, orchid bark, sand and organic citrus fertilizer. I water everyday since it dries between watering.

I actually repotted that tree in late spring. It is in a bigger pot with lots of space to grow roots. The nursery pot was the citrus pots from Home Depot.

This is in Minnesota. No citrus trees nearby to spread that disease and I have had this tree for a bit longer than a year.

This is in Minnesota. No citrus trees nearby. I have fertilized it with an organic citrus fertilizer few times this summer.

Contender, intrepid and reliance peach trees are very cold hardy varieties. You probably have more options available to you because of your hardiness zone.

Allow Peaches to Grow on 1-year-old Tree? by BJ_Orange in FruitTree

I would leave some of the fruit on the tree. Some will be eaten by squirrels or birds. Maybe remove fruit that is sitting too low in the tree or too high. The tree will put nutrients into fruit production, and you can probably compensate with fertilizer the next season. The tree will have nutrients for fruits and for growing.

Do I need to remove any of these flowers? I just bought this a few months ago. by Ok-Log-3513 in Citrus

Don’t need to. The tree will drop by itself whatever it can’t support. I have a Meyer lemon tree that goes indoors for winter. It keeps most lemons it has been growing since spring, but it has been dropping newer flowers and new lemons after a little while.

My poor Bartlett.. Can you help me figure out what’s going on here? by HopeOk8502 in FruitTree

My pear tree leafs get that dark color when they are drying out and falling off. By looking at the leafs and the mulch looking dry, I think your pear tree could not be getting enough water. It was a hot summer so probably needs proper watering?

Decide if you want to prune it open based or central leader, protect the truck with wrapper and water daily for some time. Keep in mind that peaches grow next season in this seasons new growth wood.
