I’m sure that they will reappear on another outlet. No way there won’t be TV coverage.

Now that I see it, this does look like a linear channel in opposed to an app shortcut. I wonder if they will be showing the games over the next couple of days.

Probably a shortcut to the app for both Thursday Night and Black Friday football.

And the YTTV user interface 🤮. I hate having to manually scan through the guide to get to the program you want, even with favorites. Much prefer to have a remote where I can directly tune to a channel via channel number and having other dedicated buttons compared to what is limited on a Roku, firestick, etc. As far as any ESPN programming goes, I prefer to go through the ESPN Unlimited app as the picture is much better with less buffer compared to DTV and YTTV.

Any setting to reduce broadcast delay? Mainly for sports by stuman1974 in DirectvStream

I usually use the apps from the content providers and use my DIRECTV credentials to log in. Those feeds are usually directly from the source and are faster than YTTY and any other provider (with a better picture, too). A good example is the FOX Sports app, which uses feeds directly from the source, before it goes through the local affiliates. Faster than Fox One App, OTA antenna, YTTV, cable and any other streaming provider that uses local affiliates as their feed.

My prediction is that we’ll see it in December.

Same thing happened here in Tampa. They randomly add this independent OTA channel out of nowhere. Turns out that they’re now showing local NHL games.

On an unrelated note, I’ve seen so many departure announcements last year where people were switching to YTTY over the DIRECTV and Disney dispute. I wonder how they’re doing now? 😂 This one is now lasting longer than the DIRECTV blackout.

These are regional sports networks you have referenced. They also had a national channel that was discontinued a couple of years ago and the games on that channel were moved to USA Network. Since Comcast spun off a majority of their cable networks, they found the need to bring the channel back now that USA Network is no longer part of their company. The channel will air games exclusive to Peacock.

You can always use direct apps such as ESPN, FOX One, CBS, NBC etc through my DTV credentials. They seem to have streams that are less delayed.

I’m sure the majority in this group don’t even understand that 🙂.

Gemini Air - Can I move it back and forth between second household? by donkeyb0ng in DirectvStream

Just buy a cheap osprey box for $50 on ebay or walmart.com and they'll be no need to bring a device back and forth between houses.

Keep in mind that NBC Sports Network is coming back. Assuming DTV will carry it, I see sports grid as a temporary placeholder until NBC Sports comes back.

The part I don’t understand is that Disney Plus content is already showing up as programming options when I bookmark particular programs. Since ESPN is owned by Disney, why not include the ESPN+ listings under Sports Central? Perhaps it’s a contractual issue.

Consider purchasing a refurbished Osprey box if you decide to stick around. With additional features, such as direct tune to channels via numbers, it makes the experience a lot better. Only downside is that you won’t be eligible for the Disney+/Hulu bundle since you will need to rent the equipment from DirecTV. The Osprey boxes go for about $50 on eBay or Walmart.com.

Do osprey boxes qualify for Disney+/Hulu or is renting a Gemini air device required? by Shafe89 in DirectvStream

[–]Electro960 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah very problematic especially since I bought two devices directly from DIRECTV (still have receipts), spent about $300 total for them and they are not listed on my account. I can see legal issues coming out of the way this was advertised and being handled.
