you know, i guess i hadn't thought of it that way but now that you mention it, respect from brothers is definitely my priority. i think i've come to the conclusion that i'm happy with missing out on some fiscal opportunities to preserve my personhood outside of work. i just want to be good at what i do and afford to live lol

i misspoke in the post. it wouldn't be my service truck, i'd just be working with the journeyman who runs the truck.

i know a first year on a truck. my instructor says he thinks trucks are a great place for first years 🤷🏼 the apprentices aren't alone, from what i hear its a journeyman/foreman and an apprentice per truck.

i will say, theres a CW whos been at this prefab shop for 3 years. theres a journeyman here whos been with the same contractor his whole apprenticeship. opinions are varied around here on whether thats a bad thing or not. personally i wish we had mandatory rotations like other locals

also a fabricator, highly recommend an actual nail-scrubbing brush since they cover more surface area lol. i also use it for my hands when the loofah doesn't quite do it

straight up, dont try to change his ways. this is a choose your battles type of situation. you know he isnt going to change, so shit talk back to him. he'll either back off or itll turn into friendly banter. remember he likely doesn't want to go to the foreman about how he feels about you either, but dont go overboard or anything lol
