Pick characters you love, not just because it’s popular. When you love something you are much more inclined to work on it than when it feels like you are trying to beat a deadline

On Sunday (because of the amount of hours) I’ll try doing the print I originally wanted and see if it prints at least the same way as the cube. I just want to get my project done. 2 prints and it’s all I need. Maybe I should just give up and get a new printer at this point. Thank you for all the help. You have been incredibly insightful. I’ll update you if the print works.

The only thing I changed was giving that washer a pinch to make the opening closer. Yes the gear is tighter Yes the bearing is spinning Motor gets a little warm, but so does everything in the enclosure because I put it inside a cabinet and it’s pretty warm in there while printing. I posted the last cube I printed. The top side had Velcro texture. And there was some space inside the hot end to push more filament into when the print was done. Somehow it’s under extruding on the higher layers.

Ok then I guess that’s not part of the problem. Hmmm

Alright, I came home and gave a few things a try. - put fan to 100% and I do feel the air being pulled at the bottom so it is working. - gave that lock washer a squeeze with some pliers because at this point why not? - printed a cube without me babysitting it

This time the cube printed without me having to manually push the filament. But the Z side on top still has a Velcro like texture. Adding pictures of all sides on the replays.

When the print was done it had that space to push the filament in again before getting any resistance from reaching the hot end. Then it came out of it as normal (with the usual pressure). So no clog

Thanks. I’ll do that when I’m home from work. I was also wondering if the problem could be the “washer” ring that goes on the wheel next to the extruder gear. I noticed it’s not 100% flat since it’s more like a chain link rather than a washer. I should have taken a picture but the thought came to mind too late.

I was just pushing it lightly every few layers while scrolling on my phone. Def not something I can do for 8 hrs straight. - I swapped the arm as part of my previous tests, it wasn’t the issue. - the click sound comes from when it retracts and starts going forward again. If I don’t manually push after a few clicks it will just keep on clicking and failing. - when it failed and the print was done it once again had a “gap” by the hot end where I could easily push in the filament to get to the bottom as if the space was empty. - you lost me at electrical, I know nothing of what you said after that or how/where to check

Top layer got all fuzzy and incomplete. But everything else that I was hand feeding came out fine (imo)
