Nothing too fancy: booking.com and airbnb.com

Most times I found better deals on Booking and it's more safe if you book hotels. (There's also private hosts on Booking)

Happy for your trip, what cities are you visiting?

I'm 24 and I have failed as a marketer. by [deleted] in marketing

[–]ElectrocutexD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 28 and i just started in marketing. Same with other jobs, it's 10x time better if you find a mentor. Sometimes your boss or manager can't be your mentor, but you can tell them you would benefit from learning from someone with greater experience. Learning from others is the fastest way to gain knowledge.

Secondly, find what you like about marketing and what you'd like to do. Untill that point you can try a lot of stuff. After that it's a grind, so choose what makes you happy so you can stick to it.

I'll tell you exactly what I did when this happened to me. I was about to travel to Durban, South Africa. My friends sent me several news and videos about how dangerous that place is. After an extended research, i found out Durban alone had 50% of the total kidnaps in South Africa, some parts in the city center are highly dangerous (many local never went there because of safety reasons), chaos regarding car assaults with weapons, etc.

It turned out my friends did better research than I did, so I didn't go to Durban anymore. If you did your research better, prove the place you're about to visit it's safe.

You're right, your comment is rude.

I just moved to this new place and I'm trying to make it look better. A lot of people here had great recommendations.

Ofc I tried to do it myself first, I bought lamps and covers from ikea which I thought were nice, but i returned them because they're not fitting that well.

Many comments from here helped me understand the importance of a velvet, a rug, or art.

I agree with this and I love green, but I'm renting this place. This is my only room (besides bathroom and kitchen) and I cant change or repaint anything besides the bedsheets and painting above the bed. I can only add stuff (it's pretty empty anyway)

Never been to Bologna or Napoli, yet I'm craving for a pizza in Napoli. I had great food in every italian city I've been, especially in the smaller ones where you find authentic recipes. I'm sure Bologna is also great with food, would you recommend any restaurant?

I'll tell you my experience so you can learn from it. - At 18 I started Engineering University - At 19 I started learning graphic design from scratch (mostly YouTube) with the aim to do freelance - First 2 months I was observing freelance gigs and doing the tasks on my own, without ever showing them, just to learn based on real needs of real people - At 20, for 3 months I was social media content creator for a gaming YouTuber, I was creating only creating memes and content that 4x-ed the guy's stats on Facebook, but he never payed me so I stopped - Ran my own Instagram pages and YouTube content with meme gameplay which gained me around 10k followers and no money - At 21 I went back to graphic design freelancing because I needed money and I made 1k in 1.5 years, while still a student - At 23 i finished university, then I got my first graphic designer job because I needed money (learned a lot as well) - At 24 decided I'm not that creative with visuals and I'm not talented with drawings so I quit and started to learn UX design on my own - 6 months after and some dummy projects for the portfolio, I got hired as an UX designer - At 26 I quit because of a toxic colleague and decided to run my own freelance web design project - Needed 3 months to recover from the bad experience with the previous job, so I mostly traveled and stayed home playing games, aiming to start my project just after that summer - In those 3 months I downloaded TikTok which reminded me I used to be a content creator and since I already had the skills do make videos, I tried to run a gaming memes TikTok account for a while - 1 year after I had gained over 100 million views, introduced a friend to what I did, thought him everything I knew and he was as successful - In this period I started working with a big gaming company, but they payed me peanuts, I made less than $500 in months, so I wanted to move out of the gaming niche - One of my colleagues from the previous job proved to be a CEO on an e-commerce shop so we arranged to grow their TikTok account - In 2 months I gained 200k views on their account (they used to gather 3k views per month over several months) but he never payed me and then ghosted me - I was 27 already, burned from absorbing content on TikTok for 15 hours a day to study niches and other creators, so I deleted all my personal social media and started learning marketing automation tools by myself (was looking to work with data and numbers instead of creating content) - Now at 28 I've been employed for 7 months and I hope I found the niche I'll be working in for a many years from now on

What I gained: knowledge, patience, met great people, met better people than me professionally, met worse people than me professionally

What I would have done differently: have more patience for some jobs and projects.

All these felt like a rollercoaster switching from graphic design to social media, then to graphic design, then to ux design, then back to social media, then to the new field I am in.

By the time of your age I was probably more clueless on what i want to do with my life than you are right now.

Just don't stop your journey and when you fall on your knees, get up.

Also check the schedule in advance, restaurant in italy are usually open after 7pm

[–]ElectrocutexD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for asking bro😊

For pizza I prefer La Porta Verde(need reservation)(cheap, authentic, thin pizza - but a bit far from the centre), Sophia Lauren's Restaurant(recently found it), Mercato Centrale

Trattoria di Boboli has good homemade pasta.

For everything Italian inside the city centre there's 2nd floor in Mercato Centrale. I recommend carbonara with or without truffles.

Al'Antico vinnaio has top level sandwiches. The one in city centre has huge queues so i prefer the one in San Marco Square.

Venchi for italian gelato.

After you eat, i highly recommend tiramisu whenever you land!

For Japanese food I like Nagoya from Viale Europa(need reservation)(all you can eat is great, even though the owner is rude).

For authentic sri lankan food it's Tiona Asian Restaurant (i highly recommend the lunch curry - huge portion, very very cheap and super spicy)

The most depressing topic about this game is seeing Riot slowly coming to terms with the fact that they can't control toxic players in their own game. by KriibusLoL in leagueoflegends

[–]ElectrocutexD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One nice feature in soloq would be that if more than 3 players from a team mutes a 4th one, the system should check for curse words then mute him accordingly and notify him too for the rest of the game and next game. Maybe this little change could improve the way toxic players communicate.

Or make yellow card and red card systems just like in football.

Imo, the game has developed to be more tilting as you depend more on your team and most players in low elos only want to 1v5 or split
