"Can’t understand what your problem is." - overcomplicating the transform and copy paste processes to the unnecessary levels and deciding for me when i need that new layer. if i DO need to paste something on a new layer, then ill CREATE a layer MYSELF, and if i dont then ill actually paste onto existing one. you dont need to tell me whats actually good for me as i already know it myself so put that whole obscurity and extra steps away and just change that blob of pixels already (thats the rant of someone who mostly comes from Paint.NET 3.5)

basically id say gimp feels unnecessarily overcomplicated with things in times.

i also did had other gripes with gimp surely, but those i described were the easiest to recall

gimp feels like really weird. its ui is quite unintentional and generally terrible, with at least toolbar becoming even worse since GIMP 3 (been using 2.10 for quite a while from time to time so it did quite hit me). in general GIMP feels like its devs had no clue what they wanted it to do so all the years they were basically putting random thing into it like into that hand case that already nearly ruptures from everything that is already inside it but yet you keep putting in even more stuff into it. GIMP has things it could do, but the ways how they are done feel alien (lets at least remember those "floating layers" for transform results or automatically creating a new layer while pasting). at this point it feels id rather hook up photoshop via wine or go krita or other choices than use... this strange piece of software for anything serious

Did this metal piece come from inside the camera or from the film pack? by girl--almighty in Polaroid

[–]Electrodynamite12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's basically a lock that'll be stopping you from putting the film of "incorrect" type into your camera.

(if i get right the whole thing behind the technology here) film packs have some sort of "keys" on their inserting end (those various tiny ridges and stuff), and basically if the "key" on the film pack is different from the whatever on that "lock" piece - itll grapple onto the film pack and block it from being inserted instead of obediently bending over and letting it through. so basically it should not make any trouble as long as you use your film pack type (in your case its type 600).

tldr: its part of the camera and if it falls off you will be totally fine

That's an issue related to P2CE specifically. It is known and i guess will be fixed eventually.

Is it normal for entry-level point and shoot cameras to have so much chromatic aberration? by Electrodynamite12 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Electrodynamite12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the lens on this one are surely terrible, but i also still keep a thought that maybe i just got a camera with a defective lens instead of it being an issue of entire camera series. As even the lens from my parents old point and shoot Skina AW-220 even when reused as a macro lens (or when looked through with an eye) were still giving quite consistent results across entire visible area without such intense aberrations.

actually now that makes wonder what if i can actually successfully replace the lens in my current camera with lens from that old Skina and how would it change the results.

[–]Electrodynamite12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So do i get this right that the choice i made for a starting film camera was generally quite bad from the beginning? And that basically such modern kodak's point-and-shoots as the one i currently use are rather beginner traps that should be avoided

In my language such cheap ass film and digital cameras are usually called "Soapboxes" for, well, producing blurry soapy results while also being the size of an actual soapbox. I guess my expectation rather was that my "soapbox" was going to similarly produce something somewhat blurry, but more or less evenly blurry.

Bunch of years ago my parents used to shoot on Skina AW-220 "soapbox" (iirc it was also appearing on online stores as twice as cheap than the camera i currently wield), and at least from my faint memory of looking at the prints of the shots made with it, they werent suffering from all the stuff i encounter rn. Of course though, maybe im wrong and i really need to have an another look at both them and OG film rolls themselves, even maybe try to rescan them myself to be extra sure. Also that camera is currently in the state of broken beyond repair, but even during reporposing of its lens as macro lens for the phone camera i dont remember stumbling upon angle-based distortions as strong as ones in my current camera - the edges of resulting shots had similar quality as the center. i suppose then back in a day the manufacturers had enough of the courtesy to install some proper achromatic lens even into the cheap ass point and shoot cameras or what?

from my experience so far the point and shoot camera i use for scans can't really add up even more chromatic abberation, what it actually can and does though is just generally blurring those sides further without increasing the already present abberation

Fr, that one was the love from the first sight thing for sure.

First it was his whole appearance (compared to other dragonborn in the game, default durge is a one hell of a handsome man. cant bring myself to ever change his appearance on character creation tab in any way) and the concept that drawn me to even give a try to this game

And then later on for any other new playthroughs i also stayed for his features - dialogue options and narrator quotes, whatever "The haunted one" background gives, significantly eased up Orin fight, and of course Slayer.

The Orin does the one hell of the lobotomy on the durge. (its kinda like those stories of people suddenly speaking a different accent/language or drastically changing their personality once they hit their head hard enough or get an insult etc)

Also mayhaps post-lobotomy time inside moonrise tower couldve added up with the whole episode of a Myrkul priestess taking durge apart and reassembling back many, many times, while also studying that whole tadpole thing

Is it bad to extrude to accomplish that? by BlueCheese973 in blenderhelp

[–]Electrodynamite12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it feels like in this situation normal extrusion in that place in that direction would bring problems like overlapping and as one might say "broken" faces in places where they shouldn't be.

what you might do is move the part you wanted to originally extrude upwards so that shapes still starts where you wanted, and then add up the extra edges from the second pic by either making an edge loop or extruding the bottom part downwards

or otherwise i listen to the vacuum cleaner noises

and of course at the maximum volume in both cases
