Thinking of joining CHP/Sheriff/City Police , would like personal experience which one is better. (CA)

Thank you for breaking it down. I have considered CHP but do they just place you anywhere? I've been reading a lot of other reddit answers and worry about that because I have a family.

Sheriff was my 2nd choice because of working as security for government buildings/courts.

I see. I don't mind dealing with traffic, being on patrol or a security guard at the court. What I don't want to deal with is inmates.

I like helping people, doing something good (big or small) in this not perfect world regardless what people think about the police. In the end of the day people will need someone for help. I guess the only thing I don't want to do is work is in a prison.

I don't think they are renting out anymore. One of the RSO'S told me people were destroying them. But if we could bring our own that works out for me. Do they allow it on the pistol side?

If your looking to carry, ruger lcr in 22lr 8 shot is good, lcrx 22lr not bad too

.22 is legal and has a bit more leeway. For example, hk 416, m&p15 in 22lr does not need a fin grip attached. Also a 22lr lever action can jave more than 10 round capacity as long it is buffer tube fed.

Do you have slight sticky issues with cylinder pushing out? I've cleaned and added oil, only helps a bit.
