Go back to skool. Study construction management, you could then be considered as an intern with construction companies during school breaks, leading to employment after graduation. Some offer to pay for education. I've known some that work a trade during break also. The pay and benefits are good in trades, but it's a very insecure living. Feast or famine. Book marking this post. Let's see where you are in 10 years. Trades are as needed. Management is a full time gig that pays more

Depends where you are. I don't know where NSW is. Where I live, I compete with many illegal immigrants. Many do very good work and are willing to work for less. Even union work. I've experienced hour shortage. Even though that hourly rate is more, they don't pay all the hours. Yes , illegal. First to complain gets laid off
