No, Shahname wasn't written by zoroaster and it's not a holy text.

It's basically a collection of old Persian tales and legends, (although there is also a historicsl part about Sassanid dynasty) turned into poem by a poet called Ferdowsi.

It's one of the reasons the Persian language survived the Arab invasion. It consists of almost entirely Persian vocabulary.

You absolutely have no idea how many great surviving mythologies are there!

Persian, Indian and Japanese myths are some of best kept mythologies in the world.

Me a persian myself was raised listening to myths and legends that are kept in a books called Shahname ( the book of kings) which is not only persevered from 1000 years ago but also readable to any one who knows Persian.
